Which city do you think has the best skyline?

Of the US cities, Chicago and New York City are together in its own class; the second tier cities would probably be Houston, Miami, Dallas, Atlanta, and Los Angeles.

Globally, I think Hong Kong has an incredible skyline seeing it in photos and TV.  Dubai is stepping up among the elite with their newest skyscraper.

By the mid-1980's, Houston grew to be the third tallest skyline in the Western Hemisphere after New York and Chicago.  This cancelled project was a crushing blow to the city; had it been built, it would still be the second tallest skyscraper (barely surpassed by the Sears Tower)

I cant say one city has a better skyline. The only thing for me to settle is to go hometown bias and say Sydney.  :-P

Of course the bridge needs no intro   :sombrero:

But i would say that New York and Chicago are pretty good. I dont like LA's and thats about all US city skylines i know. I also like that of Praque becuase in the distant there is a wall of white from the soviet towers, a nice combination of classical architecture competing with concrete. Dubai is terrible becuase its really skyscrapers in the middle of nowhere. Hong Kong is brilliant, a close second i quess.

I'd have to say Chicago for me.

Atlanta's is pretty impressive. I may be a little biased, being a metro Atlanta native.  :sombrero:

I've always been impressed with the skyline Wilmington, Delaware has achieved over the years. Each time I go back there, I always look to see what was added.

To tie in roads, the best view is coming out of the Fort Pitt Tunnel especially at night.

Not the best skyline, but pretty impressive for a small but growing city.  Here's some shots of my hometown, Grand Rapids, MI:

Note in the link above the interesting US-131/Int-196 interchange in the lower right photos (actually you can very clearly see it in the 2nd photo down on the left hand side).  The northbound and southbound lanes on US-131 corkscrew over and under each other so the traffic heading in the opposite direction is off to the right instead of the left for a bit.  This also creates a lot of exits and entrances on the left hand side of both freeways.  It's a massive and confusing interchange.  Just south of this interchange is the infamous US-131 S-Curve.  There were a lot of unnecessary hazards built into US-131 through town.

Here's another shot of town just coming off from the S-Curve and approaching the corkscrew:

Here's the latest and tallest addition to the Grand Rapids skyline:

We have a winner here. I've always loved that 'entrance' into a city. I really don't think any city can sneak up on you the way Pittsburgh can through the Fort Pitt Tunnel.

Although it's nice to be amazed by the view, if you don't know what lane to be in -- NOW -- you're screwed once you're on the Fort Pitt Bridge.

Jacksonville was always one of my favorites.  It's subtle but I like it:

Definitely Boston, too:

But Pittsburgh seriously wins with the view out of the Fort Pitt Tunnel.  Especially during Lite-Up night!
NJ Roads FTW!

I'll add to the Pittsburgh chorus, but New York is still number one for me.

I like Pittsburgh as well, I especially love all the bridges that blend into the skyline and give the city a unique look.
