Oh, thank God! Oh, thank God!

That is the single stupidest interchange on the entire Eisenhower Interstate Highway System. Anything is an improvement, even if the eastbound on-ramp is torn out and replaced with nothing.

Viewing the presentation .pdf, it kind of feels like they currently are leaning towards Alternative "F"
I don't have opinions anymore. All I know is that no one is better than anyone else, and everyone is the best at everything

Glad to see PennDOT finally doing something about the two worst interchanges on I-376.

I hope they eventually reconfigure the left-lane on- and off-ramps at the Churchill interchange, and simplify the Edgewood/Swissvale and Forest Hills/Wilkinsburg interchanges.

In 1991, a Pittsburgh Press Columnist, Brian O'Neill, wrote about an overhead guide sign on the city's Crosstown Boulevard that said of an upcoming exit for Fort Duquesne Boulevard - 1/2 mile away.  The problem was - the exit was not there.

This is the story of the unbuilt interchanges on Pittsburgh's Crosstown Boulevard/Expressway (or I-579).  Ft. Duquesne, the full story of the incomplete Bigelow Boulevard interchange (and ghost ramp), and the incomplete movements of the I-279/579/PA 28 Interchange at East Street.

But like every good Pittsburgh highway story - there's a little bit of Skybus, the bankrupt Penn Central Railroad, and of course then-Mayor Pete Flaherty.

Come read along - https://www.gribblenation.org/2025/03/paper-interchanges-ft-duquesne.html

Oh, as for the sign - it was replaced, but it had been up since 1984.
