This week, I updated the I-678, I-81, I-84, I-87, I-90, I-95, Fuller Road Alternate, Henry Hudson Parkway, Thruway, Berkshire Spur, and Sunken Meadow State Parkway exit lists.  I also added photos as follows:
-Ohio: I-70, I-470, I-71, I-80, and I-90
-Indiana: I-70, I-65, I-465, I-74, I-90/Indiana Toll Road, and I-80

https://nysroads.com

What was four planned updates with photos to/from the Peoria Roadmeet is now three (so this is updates two and three of the original four).  I decided to combine Ohio and Indiana since those pictures were easy to do and this will allow everything to be done before the Cumberland Roadmeet.

In other news, I'd like to set a font for the main site.  While I like how the site displays in Chromium-based browsers (so Chrome, Edge, Vivaldi, etc.), I'm not happy with how it displays be default in Firefox.  At the same time, specifying a generic font just falls back on those browser defaults, while choosing a specific one runs into the problem that not all devices have the same fonts.  The exit lists avoid this because I supply the Roadgeek 2005 Series D font (which looked better on the web than Series E, even though it's less accurate).  Does anyone have any advice for this?

I'll check out your updates for the Long Island Expressway soon. In the meantime, I have to ask about a couple of Taconic State Parkway images on Wikimedia Commons;

Do those look like Southern Putnam County between West Mahopac and Fahnestock State Park to anyone else but me?

BTW, the exit with NY 301 still needs serious reconstruction.

One thing to keep in mind is that each user can set their default fonts as they like them in their browser preferences, so it may be worth keeping the defaults to preserve user choice.

However, should you still want to override the default font, you have a few options. Web fonts are a thing now; you can link to a .woff font file and define a name for it in your site's CSS, and then have other rules refer to the name you defined. Google Fonts has a bunch of these hosted on their servers, with ready-made code you can paste into your CSS file. For roadgeek sites, it's hard to beat Overpass; it's much like Interstate in that it's a running-text-friendly Series E redraw. It is available on Google Fonts, as well as being in most Linux distros' package managers (it is made by Red Hat and is open source).

The I-495 list update is a fix to the description, taking out the common roadgeek assumption that eastern extension plans were definitivly for a crossing to CT or RI.  The I-678 one is even more minor; I fixed a typo in the title.  Probably wouldn't even be worth reporting if not for the fact that each page has a timestamp of its last update on the bottom.

As for those Taconic photos, I agree.

Good question.  That one in particular was installed when the rest area was upgraded into a welcome center to help control invasive species in Lake George and the rest of the Adirondacks.

This week, I updated the I-95, I-278, and NY 895 exit lists.  I also added photos as follows:
-Québec: A-15, QC 132, QC 138, QC 201, A-530, QC 134, A-930, A-30, A-20, A-19, QC 335, and A-730
-New York: I-87/Northway and NY 3

This concludes the upload of photos from my trip last month to Montréal.

EDIT: It appears that I am also affected by the same Facebook dislike for notifying of site updates to roadgeek pages as CA Highways, as Facebook just removed the corresponding post for this update, claiming that it's "spam".  As such, I will be deleting the page when I next update the site, currently expected in late July, unless a favorable resolution to the issue is arrived at (which I am not expecting, because this is Facebook, and their corporate policy is basically "make the site as bad as possible and then make it worse").  As such, you'll want to follow along here or via RSS for future updates; probably not an issue if you're reading this, but the point stands.  It was a lot of fun to curate "best of" photo previews (and this one even had a bonus photo not on the website, which is too bad) and to interact with the people who read the site, but alas, all good things must come to an end it seems.

Interesting.  I haven't had that so far (although my view counts seem to have mysteriously dropped by more than 50% earlier this year).  Maybe give it a little time and try again.  They seem to be always tweaking the algorithm, and they make no shortage of errors along the way.  It's a shame that they don't provide a way to appeal these decisions.

Funnily enough, that happened to me the week before this happened.  I assumed that it was just because that week was a small update consisting entirely of rainy day Québec photos, but maybe not.

I'm thinking of doing a minor/moderate code refresh on the site.  The main objectives are to get rid of all the info messages the W3C validator spits out on every page (a result of the site originally being XHTML 1.1 rather than HTML 5) and make the mobile version less of a kludge.  Also, I'd plan on doing some housekeeping on the filesystem and minor cosmetic enhancements to make the appearance a bit more modern.  Does anyone have any advise with respect to appearance modernization or the mobile version, especially with respect to the nav bar or how to handle the exit lists (currently one of the most kludgey part of the system, as I had to forcibly scale images since the width/height are currently set by HTML rather than CSS; another example of browsers marking on, as those attributes are now considered to be pure presentation, while in the past they were used to set browser placeholders before images were downloaded)?
