Autoroute 85 Status?

Massachusetts may have a bad driver stereotype, but they don't have bad drivers any more than other states do. The crash rate is low compared to other states, and roads have slightly higher hourly capacity here than they do in much of the US. New England is the only part of the US without slow left lane hogs.

When this is completed, the Trans-Canada Highway will have its longest continuous freeway section, going from west of Ottawa to the middle of Nova Scotia, spamming four provinces in the process. American tourists should feel right at home driving on it

Until the typical milquetoast American driver enters a driving environment full of rampaging Québécois maniacs. Tears will be shed. 

At least Québécois drivers don't have an entire bad driving stereotype named after them. Am I right, Massachusetts?

Fine. Can someone explain to me, why the fuck Chicago drivers are so bad? I guarantee you none of the issues are exclusive to Chicago (or even a combination thereof).

They aren't. Collision rates are fairly typical for a city that size, and saturation flow rate is comparable to similar centres so driver behaviour is standard. There's nothing empirical to it.

If anything, Chicago drivers are rather unremarkable one way or another.

I feel like a lot of people who complain about "bad drivers" really mean that the "bad drivers" are more aggressive than the complainer would prefer.  That's certainly the case with NYC.  Maybe Boston too, though I'll note that I-95 between Providence and Boston is the only place a passenger car ran me off the road.

I wipe off this old subject just to tell you another section of Autoroute 85 opened to traffic last wednesday, June 19th. This is section 5 of 7; sections 1, 2, 3 and 6 are already open, and section 4 is supposed to open next year. The section 7 will open partially later this year, and would be finished by late 2026.

See when I passed there on June 19th.

Did you see any A-85 markers on the newly-opened Section 5, or the already-open Section 6? (The link you provided doesn't work for me, probably because I'm not on Facebook.)

For Travel Mapping, I've treated Section 6 as a reroute of TCH/QC 185, rather than a disconnected new segment of A-85. That's based on MTQ's online mapping, which hasn't been updated for the completion of Section 5.

On sections 5 and 6, markers are actually QC-185, and will probably remain until section 4 opens, probably next year, connecting with the first three sections that are marked as A-85. About section 6; in fact, it's a disconnected section of QC-185, but build about 200 feet aside. The old route will become Gerard-Roy Road.
