Oh shit.  I hiked right by where the Schneider Springs Fire is a few weeks ago.   (The purple line is the hike.)

It was hot as hell there.  The top of mount aix has a quarter mile of scrambling and if you looked at any vegetation wrong there it would combust.

Also, I notice there's still glacier silt in Tacoma.

Going by my Weather Channel app, every single day from now until the 26th (which is the limit on the forecast) has on the forecast either thunderstorms or scattered thunderstorms. It's rare I have seen that be the case for so many consecutive days. Furthermore, this has pretty much been the reality for the past few days already, every day at some point there has been an unpredictable, albeit brief, thunderstorm. This has manifested a few times conveniently as I was walking across campus at college.  :paranoid:
Pretty common to see this in Houston's forecast at least once per year early in the summer when the weather pattern is stagnant, as gulf moisture really lends to unpredictable brief thunderstorms.

That's actually the type of weather Houston's been experiencing the past few weeks. The usual cycle is hot and muggy till about 11am, a brief shower for 10-15 minutes, maybe repeat around 3-4pm, and then hot and muggy thru the evening. I can't say I hate the rain, though, as it keeps the temperature down. Current forecast is 90 degrees and scattered t'storms for the next 5 days.

I've noticed that for Houston 2021 has been a little cooler than the past several years have been. Even putting the Coldpocalypse aside, I've noticed that we've had a lot more summer 80-85 degree days than what I believe is usual for down here.

It is a very pleasant evening right now. Heat and humidity are both down following a cold front that past here Thursday night. I went for a jog as the temperature is 79 and the sky is clear, with a  calm breeze.

Small chance it might hit 110F in Fresno.  Makes me miss the 75F degree weather even though it was smokey at Crater Lake two days ago.

I'm there right now as well.

Some relief here as it's only in the high 60s and overcast. Smoke has been pushed out east by a strong system coming off the Pacific.

Beautiful and sunny in Vancouver on 15 August, upper 70s. 16 August, barely into the mid-60s and very drizzly to downright rainy. Pretty typical Vancouver day, I'd say!

Back to partly cloudy and sunny, 70s again. Nice summer weather here in Pacific Northwest, at least for now.

Yea I was backpacking in the Olympics Sol Duc area, and it dropped to 39 with rain and wind above the Hoh rainforest.  (I was above 5000').  Good thing I brought my thermals, rain shell, fleece and hand warmers!  My 40 degree summer sleeping bag was rough.

Now that I'm back in Seattle I'm appreciating my memory foam bed, beer and heat.

Wild that the wettest part of the US (Hoh Rainforest; >150"  annual rainfall) is about 40 miles away from the lower Dungeness Valley - one of the driest parts of Washington (Sequim; <60" ).

A heat advisory was recently issued, and is in effect until Thursday evening. Sunny, with highs in the mid 90s (heat indices ranging from roughly 100-105) until then.

It's been a hot week in Kitchener. Tomorrow looks like the peak with a high of 33C (91F) and a humidex of 44C (111F). The last few days have been mainly sunny, but the rest of the week should be cloudier with some thunderstorms.
