Feels like a Vancouver Christmas here in Southern Ontario. The whole week has had highs around 6-8C (43-46F), lots of fog, constantly overcast, and multiple days of light rain. Hopefully January brings some snow!

Same here, except for Christmas Day, which was around 50F and sunny! It has been a very strange late December.

High 50s and overcast. Some areas have broke their daily record highs.

This is terrible, even for an El Nino year.

EDIT: In fact, low 60s.

The last day of 2023 will be looking like this:

                                     ACTUAL                              AVERAGE

BROWNSVILLE:        78 high; 65 low                    72 high; 53 low
CORPUS CHRISTI:    78 high; 60 low                    69 high; 52 low
LAREDO:                 77 high; 55 low                    68 high; 48 low
MCALLEN:               79 high; 61 low                    71 high; 52 low

While daytime isn't looking too cold, we'll certainly need our coats during the nights.  I know my heater will be on full blast for sure.

I don't remember if I posted this little factoid or not before, but DFW has NEVER had a completely snow-free winter on record. At least a trace of snow has been recorded every season going back to 1898.

We finally got some snow on New Years Eve and now it looks more like winter. It's currently 1C (34F) and partly cloudy.

24°F and snowing with gusty winds.  Usually when it snows here the temperature is in the 28°F-34°F range, so at 24°F this snow is very light powder rather than the wetter cement, and with the wind we have a whiteout.  Good day to stay indoors and watch some golf and football.

Since I'm vacationing at the moment in Fort Lauderdale...

NWS Tornado Warning that was issued at 5:45 PM Eastern Time.

I was in that area just this afternoon on a water taxi, but was on a bus heading back to my hotel room and outside the warning area. The area is filled with homes with a price tag starting at $10 million.

Our flight landed at Fort Lauderdale just before 4:30. I decided to take Sheridan Street to the hotel instead of I-595 and the sky was incredibly dark as we were driving. Got to the hotel and our relatives called to tell us of the tornado warning and to say not to come over yet for dinner. Turned on the TV and saw the tornado. Pure luck that our flight was not delayed and that I chose to take one of the more southern routes.

Heavy, wet snow and 34.

I live several miles north of Boston and we've gotten about 6-9 inches so far. Haverhill has seen about a foot (not disclosing my hometown)

Active week ahead after getting 2" of snow over the weekend. Another 2-4" tonight, another coating on Wed night, then potentially a good storm come Friday. Following that is a good blast of arctic air.

Tonight's low is higher than the high temperature for both today and tomorrow...

In regards to the "winter storms" as of late, the forecasts around here tend to start with saying there's a potential winter storm.. then preliminary snowfall estimates get released, then said estimates get reduced to basically nothing because it ends up being warmer than expected.

Supposedly, we're to have apocalyptic flooding in Maryland tomorrow.
