Many cable stay bridges are going up all over the country, but I thought this might be a good place to note any new bridges that are being built that you are familiar with.

Not a cable stay, but still a fairly large structure, the new South Omaha/Vetrans Memorial Bridge for US 275 across the Missouri River:

Much less exciting structurally is the current construction for a twin to the I-80 bridge across the Missouri, and a replacement for the IL 170 bridge across the Illinois River.

The PTC is in the process of building a new bridge over the Monongahela River south of Brownsville for the Mon-Fayette (Rt. 43).
They're (PTC) just about done with their new Allegheny River Bridges for the mainline (I-76) as well.

While not as big, I think I read that the new US-219 freeway section south of Springville NY is about to open with fairly impressive dual-spans over the Cattaraugus Creek as well.
I don't have opinions anymore. All I know is that no one is better than anyone else, and everyone is the best at everything

The PTC/NJTP have a new bridge to build, Supposed to start near 2015 for construction. The first new bridge across the delaware since the 1970s i believe, when the Betsy Ross Bridge opened up in 1976. It will be a twin of the existing Turnpike arch bridge near Bristol PA on the NJTP Pennslyvania Extension. Something to look out for i guess.

The 1929 Champlain Bridge connecting Crown Point, NY, and Chimney Point, VT, at the southern end of Lake Champlain, was demolished in 2009 and a new bridge is under construction.

A recent trip to the southern Monongahela River Bridge of Turnpike 43.  Although no mention that the construction company had to demolish and rebuild several sub-sufficient sections of piers last year.

The Federal Bridge Corp LTD, a crown corporation of the Canadian Government, have announced plans to replace the North Channel Bridge of the Three Nations Crossing (Seaway Intr'l Bridge Crossing) on the Cornwall, ON side.  The bridge is in bad need of repair, and plans have been on the books for years.  I have seen a design of the new bridge which will be a low rise Box beam girder style 2+2 lanes, but may be scaled back to 2 lanes to save money.  Here is a url to the announcement http://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/mediaroom/releases-2010-h093e-6065.htm
I have added a couple of other links on the topic of this new bridge

A new bridge west of the Montreal area is built on the St.Lawrence river as a part of the A-30 project. http://fr.structurae.de/photos/index.cfm?id=176936

Also, the current Champlain bridge linking Montreal to the South Shore, is a dire need of replacement http://video.fr.ca.msn.com/watch/video/montreal-remplacement-du-pont-champlain/16g81rzwn

glad to see construction has started on the new link, any idea on what the new bridge over the shipping canel will look like, i haven't seen any designs yet.    I still think the new dual carriageway from the JCT of A20/540 to A30/730 should be A540 and leave Future A730 signed as A30 as this route will be a future link to NY state line.

The bridge pictured here is the one linking the Valleyfield island to A-540. From what I could gather (I drive past it on my daily commute) it'll just be a plain concrete bridge.

Another A-30 bridge is under construction over the Beauharnois Canal, and I think it will be cable-stayed, although I'm not sure anymore. I'll go bike in the area once the trails open.

I'm surprised you didn't also mention the A-25 toll bridge that will link Montreal to Laval.  I went to take pictures earlier this month: http://drfrankenstein.homedns.org:8080/images/photos/main.php?g2_itemId=10766 .

I was going to but i think someone has already done that in an other thread.  That one looks to be a nice bridge judging from the pics on MTQ's website.  I should be near done by now.  Wonder what the Toll rates will be and if it will see much traffic considering the alternate route options available in the area. IE A19 to the west.

Dr Frankenstein

It should be opening in May, at least a month ahead of schedule (for a change!).

The rates are here: http://www.a25.com/#tarif
If it appears in French, click "English" on the gray bar at the top of the page.

And I agree, it's quite possible that traffic will be pretty light.

Guess we can't walk on it then. (The roadway, that is.) (For the meet, that is.)

Edmonton, AB is moving swiftly along with its beltway (AB-216). With construction nearing completion, north of the city starting from the west JCT of TCH-16 to a temp termination at JCT AB-15. Alberta Transport is currently working on the design of the second beltway crossing of the North Saskatchewan River. This bridge will be longer then the southern crossing, as the river cannel is wider and deeper.  The design will be similar to that of the replacement of the TCH-16 eastbound bridge. A concrete girder with all concrete deck, wide enough to carry 3x3 lanes, but will only mark the bridge with 2x2 lanes. The Expected opening of the final phase (AB-15 to JCT TCH-16) including the crossing is for late 2015

The I-71 bridge over the Little Miami River, tallest bridge in Ohio, is being replaced.  They seem to be building a new span between the existing twin spans.  From what I saw of it today, the new bridge will probably be made from pre-stressed concrete box girder sections.
Wait, it's all Ohio? Always has been.

The Margaret Hunt Hill bridge is taking shape in Dallas, as an extension of Woodall Rodgers Freeway west of I-35E (Stemmons Frwy.).  It has been criticized as a 'bridge to nowhere', as the freeway won't continue past the west end of the bridge.  It will be Dallas' first prominent cable suspension bridge.  The locals who donated the $$$$$ for the project are eagerly awaiting its completion, while the rest of us wonder why more isn't done yet to fix/upgrade the I-30 or I-35E bridges; twice in the last few years holes have appeared on the I-30 bridge.  Supposedly new $$ is coming from Austin for the other 2, meanwhile, feast your eyes on one of the newest parts of the downtown skyline:::::::::::

The bridge immediately left (north) of the new bridge is the Continental Avenue bridge; it will close to vehicular traffic when the new Margaret Hunt Hill bridge opens, but the Continental will be retained as a pedestrian/bike/elevated-park structure.

Quote from: http://www.projectpegasus.org/wre_docs/Chapter%20I%20-Description%20of%20Proposed%20Action.pdfAlthough the Continental Avenue Viaduct met design standards when constructed, circa 1930, there are elements that do not meet current design standards.  The proposed structure would meet both current loading requirements and roadway design criteria while accommodating future traffic projections.  At the project's west terminus, the City of Dallas is proposing to widen Beckley Avenue to a continuous six-lane facility from IH 30 to the project limits. Dallas County would also widen Singleton Boulevard to a four-lane facility with a continuous left-turn lane from Hampton Road to west of Beckley Avenue.  These improvements would integrate and function in tandem with the project in accommodating current and future traffic volumes and movements.
