And now the problem with this game... I shall have to sit out until we reach 251 because Oklahoma didn't see fit to number any highways between 209 and 251! :P

What about 244?   :sombrero:

Fortunately, thanks to Oregon's old secondary route system, there are plenty of routes between 201 and 245 out here.  Then things get sparse.

As I said, Oregon's got this range well-covered...

Oklahoma didn't see fit to number it 244...AASHTO did. Get your story straight. Geez. ;)

Besides if Oklahoma had numbered the Interstates, they'd all be 94D...

AR 219 (this sign has since been replaced with a Clearview one)

I'll have to check my notes or field verify, but a few signs around Ozark have yet to be upgraded. That sign may be one of them.

Moving right along, we have AR 220: Arkansas' last dirt highway

"Dirt Highway?"  What's the story there?

Anyway, on with the show...

It's a glorified county road between Lee Creek and Devil's Den State Park. It was made part of the state highway system circa 2002 (?), but has yet to be improved. There are several steep grades, sharp turns and large potholes that need to be corrected but (1) AHTD doesn't know how to proceed without damaging the surrounding Ozark National Forest (2) it's near the bottom of the list when it comes to funding priorities.

I do not believe I've ever seen a classic US-222 shield.  So here is a modern one.

Dunno how long this will be posted, as ODOT just relinquished the last remaining state-maintained section of this highway.

I took a pic of the same sign in December 2008; it had already been replaced by then:
