Heres some of my Traffic Light Photos
New Jersey

If you didn't say that was in New Jersey, I'd have sworn that photograph was taken in Wisconsin.

(Note: proper etiquette is to snip the photo from replies.)
For me, it was an instant Jersey photo.  Show us some more from Wisconsin.

Yea, it looked very New Jersey to me aswell. Wisconsin normally had black signal fronts with yellow backs, and most of the overhead ones have backplates and are on that "trombone" mast arm. Plus, I don't think I have seen a WI signal with two overhead horizontal signals.

I don't know much about the signals, but I'm pretty sure that Hess is not in Wisconsin!

Last I checked these classics were still hanging above the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr., Avenue and Kennedy Street in Mobile. This photo was taken 07/17/07 though.

[For me, it was an instant Jersey photo.  Show us some more from Wisconsin.

Wisconsin has been known to use some different horizontally mounted signals.  They now use backplates (as someone else noted), but they did not always do so, and some cities are notorious for not using them.

Here's a few from Milwaukee, a city with many older Wisconsin signals:

http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ie=UTF8&ll=43.022878,-87.933004&spn=0,359.964037&t=h&z=16&layer=c&cbll=43.022978,-87.933006&panoid=rwDN9u21GyMzAOp0ViHM6w&cbp=12,354.88,,0,1.08

http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ie=UTF8&ll=42.982251,-87.909572&spn=0,359.964037&t=h&z=16&layer=c&cbll=42.982366,-87.909568&panoid=irDq78BNr32wR8mtvoNSBg&cbp=12,240.76,,0,-9.18

http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ie=UTF8&ll=43.060266,-87.921631&spn=0,359.964037&t=h&z=16&layer=c&cbll=43.06037,-87.921522&panoid=2TvQnwbqBOWvuWmxiKCfzA&cbp=12,279.6,,0,-0.64

A bit of bizarreness in Rhinelander:

http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ie=UTF8&ll=45.635437,-89.410043&spn=0,359.964037&t=h&z=16&layer=c&cbll=45.635401,-89.411609&panoid=fgf4ljtjWsrJ1LEGmWOWyw&cbp=12,45.84,,0,0.17

And from Janesville, similar to the photo:

http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ie=UTF8&ll=42.67865,-89.002819&spn=0,359.928074&t=h&z=15&layer=c&cbll=42.678891,-89.002836&panoid=PGjz13HTJgjchUc4ql_nAg&cbp=12,85.42,,0,0.97

There used to be some similar ones to the photo shown.  I've never been to New Jersey, so I have no idea what their signals typically look like.  Been to Wisconsin many times.

Attn Ian and anyone else interested in DE signals: looks like these two old Eagles are still hanging around in Middletown, Delaware.

I know exactly where that is! That is another location for me to get shots of older Eagles in Delaware before they go bye-bye.

Wow, is that Center Street facing the old jail?

The old Courthouse, actually. The jail is a block south ;)
But yes, that is Center St at East Ave

Yep, you're right....I've clearly been away from there for too long ;-)

Older Econolite brand "buttonback" signals on US 9W in Fort Lee (just a block north from I-95)...

I also found an old photo from Victoria, BC from 1965. Taken by my great grandfather (image was too large, so I had to put the link)...

And more!

And lastly, the doors on this toll signal belong to signals as the same age as the above photos! This is at the Egg Harbor Toll Plaza long the Atlantic City Expressway in New Jersey...

There are LOTS of old traffic lights in Albany, NY.  From what I have read here in this forum, many are 80+ years old.

Those last few pictures look like eastbound on Washington Avenue, yes?  I see they have installed "old-fashioned" style streetlights along the boundary of Washington Park.  It has been many years since I have been in that area.

Yup, those last few photos are along Washington Ave. Those signals with the decorative top and bottoms (the Crouse Hinds type D) were probably installed sometime around the 1940's. Albany has a lot of stuff around. BUT, there was a recently replaced 4way on CR 156 (Fuller Rd) in Colonie...

Nice catch! I am not sure what is up with the sides not matching up. No old signals have that effect (that I know of). Might be a manufacturing error of some sort.

That's an awesome site.  Fun name too.  I found a few little gems there as well.

Looks like some Eagleluxes with finials:

Hard to see much detail, but a 2-head signal and a nice Bishop's crook street light:

Awesome beefy street lamps, and cutout Ohio US and State route shields:

The second one looks like a Ruleta signal.

Here are more finds on the site...
