Supposed to have 80 mph gusts of wind today as the big storm that just dropped a ton of snow in the Sierras is here now.  I took down the patio umbrella so it wouldn't fly away.  Now it's sleeting.
Same here. Fort Collins supposedly is having 100 mph gusts.

37F this morning and damp.  Fresno had a all time city record for rain in a single day yesterday at 1.03 inches.

In Kansas we're currently in the middle of a windstorm, with extreme fire danger (due to low humidity) east of the Turnpike and reports of semis flipped and power poles blown over.  I-70 has now been closed in the western part of the state due to blowing dust.

The wind has died down quite a bit here.  Near to us, looks like the largest gust was 91 mph near Boulder and there was a 107 mph gust down by Lamar.

It seems the storm is moving west to east.  In Wichita we're supposed to see some slackening around six PM.

A surprisingly warm 13C / 56F from sunrise all the way into the afternoon. Also, a special weather statement saying the Colorado Low has moved into Ontario, bringing gusts between 70 and 90 km/h (43 to 56 mph). The temperatures should dip to around the freezing point by tomorrow and through the next week, so hopefully a chance to get our snow back!

Cloudy and rainy, hovering a bit over freezing at times.

Last night we had our first visible lowland snow, though it wasn't able to stick to the pavement.

High 72, low 63. Pretty warm in December...

After a nice chilly weekend, Houston is back in the 80 degree doldrums. Christmas will be a nice and toasty 82 with partly cloudy skies, with a nice 15 mph wind to complement it. The next time Houston gets down in the 50s again is likely going to be in 2022.

Low 40s and raining today, but the next few days are going to pack a real punch:

Possible snowfall for Saturday and Sunday, followed by temperatures plunging on Monday and Tuesday with highs in the low 20s and lows in the single digits. It could potentially break the all-time low for my local area.

So 2021 could be the year that set an all-time high (103) and all-time low (6).

I think we have the most snow on the ground for Christmas at lake level at Lake Tahoe that I have seen in my time here (13th winter now).  I have certainly seen more piled up, but not until a little later in the year, middle of January at least.  The Weather Service forecast has an additional 28 to 48 inches falling at lake level through Monday.

This less than four months after I had to evacuate for several days due to a wildfire that was driven by extreme drought conditions.

Meanwhile, we had a high of 80° here today and a forecasted high of 72° for Christmas Day. Suck it, Bing Crosby.
