Greetings from Southern California

Hello everyone!  I have been interested in roads and highways (specifically traffic control devices) since I was  a kid. I used to make  road signs using construction paper and a sign reference chart I got from a traffic control company.

I'm now  a civil engineer working for an engineering company that does traffic signal design and signing/striping plans. My first job with the company was with the I-405 Sepulveda Pass Widening Project where we did the design for the new signals, signing, and striping for LADOT and the new mainline signage and roadway lighting for Caltrans. Since being on this project I have a renewed
interest in anything road and highway related.

I recently found this forum and it's good to know there are more road geeks out there.  :D

Los Angeles is the #1 densest urban area in the US. The New York metro is #5. Chicago is #36. Orlando is #119.

I wish I could but I can't at this time. If I can find an old copy of an LADOT signal plan I could post it. LADOT signal plans are pretty crazy with the amount of stuff we are required to show. I have a lot of respect for the contractors that are able to read those plans out in the field and build everything without sending us an absurd amount of RFI's.
