The Monopoly board is based on Atlantic City, NJ. But what if it was your city? In case you're not familiar, the names are color grouped in order of increasing importance/prestige. I'll do Madison:

Browns - Johnson St, Gorham St
Light blues - Webster St, Fairchild St, Doty St
Purples - Williamson St, Wilson St, Blair St
Oranges - Park St, Dayton St, Campus Dr
Reds - Regent St, Monroe St, Randall Ave
Yellows - Wisconsin Ave, MLK Blvd, West Washington Ave
Greens - East Washington Ave, University Ave, John Nolen Dr
Dark blues - State St, Monona Terrace

The four railroads are replaced by the four capital square streets: Mifflin, Carroll, Pinckney, and Main.
The two utilities are replaced by UW-Madison and the Capitol.

A lot of cities and college towns have their own versions of the game already.

We have the Firebaugh version of Monopoly.  Truth be told I don't some of the changes to the Chance and Community Chest cards.

I'll try Duluth/Superior

Brown - Winter St, Cody St
Light Blue - Piedmont Ave, Garfield Ave (Duluth), Arrowhead Rd
Magenta - Minnesota Ave, Grand Ave (both of them), 2nd St East (Superior)
Orange - Central Ave, 21st Ave East, Commonwealth Ave
Red - Central Entrance, Hammond Ave, Michigan St
Yellow - Belknap St, Mesaba Ave, Canal Park Drive
Green - Tower Ave, Lake Ave, London Road
Dark Blue - Skyline Pkwy, Superior St

Whereas there already is a "Twin Cities-opoly", it's not street-based.

Though for the dark blues, I think I'd go with Summit Ave. and Bde Maka Ska Pkwy

SF Bay Area:
Railroads are BART, CalTrain, Muni, VTA
Rents are more than you can afford
Purple are Milpitas Blvd. and Dublin Blvd. You cannot build a house anywhere else.
Free Parking is always full
My first SF/horror short story collection is available: "Young Man, Open Your Winter Eye"

I played around with a Seattle version of Monopoly for a while.  I don't see the whole list now, but I started with the orange properties are the U District - University Way, Brooklyn, and Campus Parkway.  They're not really that expensive, but have the best return of any property group.

Dark blues were McGilvra Blvd and Lake Washington Blvd.

Instead of railroads, there were coffee places:  Starbucks, Seattle's Best Coffee, Cafe Allegro, and mmm, I don't remember the 4th one.

The streets that run parallel to my street are Connecticut and Vermont.  Wonder why my street wasn't named Oriental?   :-D

I know there is one for Chicago but it uses landmarks in addition to streets, so here's a street/road only version for Chicago

Browns - Madison Avenue, State Street
Light blues - Chicago Avenue, Halsted Street, Roosevelt Road
Purples - Garfield Blvd, 95th Street, Cermak Road
Oranges - Ashland Avenue, Cicero Avenue, Western Avenue
Reds - Foster Avenue, Irving Park Road, Sheridan Road
Yellows - Ogden Avenue, Clark Street, Milwaukee Avenue
Greens - Eisenhower Expressway, Dan Ryan Expressway, Kennedy Expressway
Dark blues - Lake Shore Drive, Michigan Avenue

Railroads: Orange Line, Green Line, Blue Line, Red Line
Utilities: Midway Airport, O'Hare Airport
Indiana: counties 100%, highways 100%
Illinois: counties 100%, highways 61%
Michigan: counties 100%, highways 56%
Wisconsin: counties 86%, highways 23%

Rochester, NY already has its own version, and I think I even have it somewhere. I'll have to post a picture here if I find it.

For Los Angeles, which would also include the freeways in this incarnation:

Brown: Central Ave, Crenshaw Blvd
Light blue: La Brea Ave, Manchester Ave, Normandie Ave
Purple: The 105, The 710, Slauson Ave
Orange: The 10, Vermont Ave, Venice Blvd
Red: The 210, Ventura Blvd, Washington Blvd
Yellow: The 405, Pacific Coast Highway, Sunset Blvd
Green: The 5, The 101, The 110
Dark blue: Hollywood Blvd, Santa Monica Blvd

I'd replace the railroads with the four TV networks to fit in with the whole L.A. theme. They'd be arranged in the same order as they are in the local TV listings (CBS, NBC, ABC and FOX). The utilities are The CW and MyNetworkTV. Chance and Community Chest become Casting Call and Endorsement, respectively.
Go Cubs Go! Go Cubs Go! Hey Chicago, what do you say? The Cubs are gonna win today!

There's actually one for Jackson, Ky. (population 2,500 or so).
