I think this picture gives us an unrealistic expectation of road signs

I love the mountain in the background, very senic!

What mountain?
"You know, you never have a guaranteed spot until you have a spot guaranteed."
—Olaf Kolzig, as quoted in the Washington Times on March 28, 2003,
commenting on the Capitals clinching a playoff spot.

"That sounded stupid, didn't it?"
—Kolzig, to the same reporter a few seconds later.

Actually, the sign was all I really saw at first, because I had to scroll down to see the rest of the picture.

Good point...so true.
Runnin' roads and polishin' rails.

For what it's worth at this point, even if the shield is fake (which it obviously is), it's not a bad fake. Quite a nice shield, actually. Anybody agree? I'm not super familiar with older trailblazers, but this seems like a good knockoff.

It doesn't say "ROUTE" in it. I hate that shit.
"Officer, I'm always careful to drive the speed limit no matter where I am and that's what I was doin'." Said "No, you weren't," she said, "Yes, I was." He said, "Madam, I just clocked you at 22 MPH," and she said "That's the speed limit," he said "No ma'am, that's the route numbah!"  - Gary Crocker

Yeah, it's a well-done job. Probably done by the same folks as this one at Disney's Hollywood Studios:

Horribly composed photo.

Also, well-done but fake. I need my sign porn to be real.

Fake!?!  I didn't see any signs of silicone there.

Oh, wait, you mean the sign.

There's a sign there?

Who wouldn't want to ride on that....road...for a few days???

Riding the entire length of Route 66 is still on my bucket list.

This is considered to be "best of road signs" because it's hilariously wrong and funny:

It had been a depressingly long time since anyone had quoted the picture (six posts??), so... again.

Yes.

Judging by the signposts, it looks likely to be in The Bronx.  :eyebrow:

Am I gonna be the only one who remembers the US 1 electric trucking set from Tyco?

I had one growing up, and I had a blast playing with it.  I wish I had known that they made the truck/train combo set back then.

Yup, I had the Interstate Trucking set. Loved it!

Also had the Lifelike HO scale freeway signs for I-83 and I-695 for our train set too.

Yeah, I posted a picture of this somewhere on the forum. Probably buried in one of these Best of/Worst of threads…

(And yes, I definitely laughed, or at least chortled.)

EDIT: Here.

PurdueBill

Gosh, had the Electric Trucking set and remember even at that age thinking "how could they mess up the US 1 shield so bad?"  Of course, we lived very close to actual US 1.
