I can think of two in Virginia primary system highways that are very short, oddly, both cross I-66

One runs under I-66 in Arlington County (with no access) - Va. 124 - Spout Run Parkway, 0.17 miles; and
One has an interchange with I-66 (Exit 13) in unincorporated Linden, Warren County - Va. 79 - Apple Mountain Road, 0.23 miles.

Both of these roads are longer than the Virginia primary system segment - Spout Run Parkway continues toward the Potomac River (it ends in a partial interchange at the George Washington Memorial Parkway) under federal government maintenance, and Apple Mountain Road becomes a private road north of  I-66.

^ VA 162 is slightly shorter than those, at 0.16 miles, but it was longer until 1994.

I don't know if Y routes count or not, but they're still in the primary system, so...

VA 54Y is 0.03 miles long.

Driven by there many times on U.S. 301/Va. 2 (never on Va. 54), but have not noticed that there was a separate Va. 54Y at that intersection.

VA 54Y is not posted.  It is the leg to the right in the picture.  It even intersects a SR but no 54Y posting is there either.

The original VA 376 was 0.10 miles, on Main St in Berryville between today's US 340 and SR 616.
The first VA 289 was 0.13 miles

The shortest primary route currently posted in Virginia is VA 300Y, at 0.04 miles.
The shortest "regular" primary route that is posted is VA 349 at 0.12 miles.

VA 335, 341, 342, 374, 389, 391 all check in at under 0.20 miles and are all posted.

VA 399 is 0.11 miles but unposted
