In Missouri, there are 18 interstate highways. This puts us 7th in the nation (behind NC, TX, IL, NY, OH, and PA). Not too shabby.

I just realized that right before I reloaded the page and saw your response lol. Don't know where I got 276 from.
Also are we like one of the few states with a lot of 3di, but no odd hundred digit ones? I noticed that when writing out my list. Though 562 would look nicer by adding 9 and making it I-571 with a red and blue shield, but that's fictional territory
2di:
84, 90, 91, 93, 95

Nevada gained two signed interstates in the 2010s, an increase of 50% in the decade!

I'll try PA from memory:
79 (279, 579), 99, 81, 83 (283), 95 (295), 70, 76 (176, 276, 376, 476, 676), 78, 80 (180, 280, 380), 86, 90
So 23, unless I'm missing any, which I probably am.
Eight. Half of them are very controversial in one way or another. People here think I-39 has two many multiplexes. They think I-41 is useless, or should be a 3di . . . is there even reasoning at all? (spoiler: there's not) I-894 is double-multiplexed its entire length. I-794 faced major opposition at the time it was built.

I place the blame for the 2di Wisconsin's interstate controversies at IDOT. The midwest grid breakers I-41 and I-43 should've been an extension of 55, 57 or 65 since day one; guess who doesn't want to cooperate ;)
I'll take a shot of Indiana's interstates.
2di's: 64, 65, 69, 70, 74, 80, 90, 94
3di's: 164, 265, 275, 465, 469, 865
So, we have 8 mainline interstates and 5 (formerly 6) auxiliary interstates. That's a total of 13 interstates (formerly 14) in Indiana.
Edit to add:
I'll take a shot on Illinois's interstates as well.
2di's: 24, 39, 41, 55, 57, 64, 70, 72, 74, 80, 88, 90, 94
3di's: 155, 172, 180, 190, 255, 270, 280, 290, 294, 355, 474, *490*
So, Illinois has 13 mainline interstates and 11 (12 by 2025) auxiliary interstates. That's a total of 24 interstates (25 by 2025) in Illinois.

So 23, unless I'm missing any, which I probably am.
You have the total number correct (23), but you missed I-84, and there's no I-280 currently in PA.
I have absolutely no idea.
Six bajillion.
Isn't this what Wikipedia is for?
Too many, California went way overboard with non-chargeable 3ds.
Since Virginia was already posted, here's the next closest - North Carolina.
This list includes current and future (not currently signed) routes. Combined, 9 mainline interstate highways, 14 auxiliary interstate highways, for a total of 23 interstate highways across the state.
I-26, I-40 (I-140, I-240, I-440, I-540, I-840), I-42, I-73, I-74 (I-274), I-77 (I-277), I-85 (I-285, I-485, I-785, I-885), I-87 (I-587), I-95 (I-295, I-795)
Montana is easy: 3 2di, 2 3di
2di: I-15, I-90, I-94
3di: I-115, I315
I'll just go ahead and try VA from memory for fun.
2di: 95-64-66-81-77 Future: 74-87-73
3di: 581-781-381-495-395-264-295-664-464-164-564
Let's see how I did.
2di: Drat, I forgot 85!
3di: Forgot 195, no 164, no 781. TIL a 785 is planned.
All in all 6 2di + 10 3di = 16 total, with three more in the future (2 2di and 1 3di)
CT is pretty quick
2di: 84, 91, 95
3di: 291, 384, 395, 684 (thought I'd forget, didn't you ), 691
So 3 2di and 5 3di = 8. But for most purposes, we count 7.
Former/Once proposed (to be built or numbered):
82: An old working number for 84 to Providence
86: Many of us know about it. East Hartford-Sturbridge section of I-84 and was to connect to I-91 via extended CT 3 expressway
87: The original number for I-684
284: A proposed highway parallel to US 5 as an extension of CT 2
290: The number once proposed for the northern half of I-395.
484: Once was proposed for the Conland-Whitehead Highway when it was to extend under Bushnell Park
491: Another number used for the CT 3 expressway and extension to I-84 in East Hartford
495: Would have come here if one of the Cross Sound Bridge options that used it was built.

(future I-7 or whatever Route 99 is planned to be numbered as if that ever is upgraded to Interstate)
I-10: I-110, I-210, I-710. FORMER: I-110 (unsigned) along San Bernardino Freeway between US 101 and I-5
I-15: I-215 formerly known as I-15E
I-40
I-80: I-280, I-380, I-580 (formerly I-5W), I-680, I-780, I-880, I-980. FORMER: I-480, original I-880 in Sacramento.
17 currently signed, 1 unsigned, and one 3di and one potential 2di that could be signed in the future. 6 former designations (I-5W, I-15E, I-480, original I-880, original I-105, original I-110).
EDIT: I forgot one, and it's the most hilariously obvious one in retrospect.
I-238! Makes that 18 currently signed.
Also, today's I-580 between San Rafael and Albany (the former Route 17) was provisionally designated as I-180, but never signed, around 1981. (It was shown on the Rand McNally atlas of the time). Does this count?
ALSO I did forget two more from LA.

We need to find the growth rate. It seems like O(t) (linear with time), but it could be O(√t) (slowing down gradually), O(log t) (slowing down a lot but eventually reaching ∞... eventually), or even O(t!) that will be like FritzOwl's plans within just five years and have every inch of land covered with Interstate in fifteen.
Since Indiana is already done, I'll crack at Mississippi:
10, *14*, 20, 22, 55, 59, 69
110, 220, 269 *310* *755*
That makes 8 signed routes, 1 longshot future interstate, and 2 route ideas that have never been formally proposed. Ideas for an I-61 or I-63 won't come around any time soon as Mississippi has enough to handle in I-69 and the rural 4 lane network is adequate.

Hmm? I-35, I-90, I-94, I-394, I-494, I-535, I-694. What are the others?
7: 35, 35W, and 35E are all the same
8: 35W and 35E count separately
9: 35, 35W, and 35E all count separately
Oh, duh. I would say that there's 7. But can we just get rid of the suffixes already?
Arizona has 6 for now.
8, 10, 15, 17, 19, 40
I-11 is planned in the future.

Did 164 and 865 actually exist at the same time?
After looking it up, I guess they co-existed for about 12 years, from 2002-2014

NaN (Not a number).
0. I've told you before: since the EU calls them member states, you do live in a state.
Ahem... per convention the States of the USA aren't counted as countries, but rather as national subdivisions. Therefore, I parse "state" as meaning national subdivision, and therefore my value for that is 'Aragon'. However, that value is not a State of the USA, and as such the number of Interstates is not an applicable field. Since it has to be an integer, it comes out as NaN instead of zero.
Michigan has 13 Interstate's.

NaN is a float, not an integer.

I'll take this as an opportunity to try to name all the interstates in my state off my head. I've been on the ones bolded
2di:
70, 71, 74, 75, 76, 77 (concurrency with 76), 80, 90 (8)

280 (for the sole reason to drive on a bridge), 480 (concurrency with 271), 680

Total: 21, been on 18
Edit: Removed 276, marked the ones I've been on
I've been on the same 18 out of 21. Not too surprising as we're from the same corner of the state.

I-49 should eventually go through northern Bowie County. Currently it ends at the Arkansas state line about 1/4 mile east of US71 and the service roads attach it to US71 which at that point is ALL in Texas.

Too many, California went way overboard with non-chargeable 3ds.
Let's see if I can remember off the top of my head:
I-5: I-105, I-205, (I-305), I-405, I-505 originally planned as I-5W, I-605, I-805. FUTURE: 905.
(future I-7 or whatever Route 99 is planned to be numbered as if that ever is upgraded to Interstate)
I-10: I-110, I-210, I-710
I-15: I-215 formerly known as I-15E
I-40
I-80: I-280, I-380, I-580 (formerly I-5W), I-680, I-780, I-880, I-980. FORMER: I-480, original I-880 in Sacramento.
17 currently signed, 1 unsigned, and one 3di and one potential 2di that could be signed in the future. 4 former designations (I-5W, I-15E, I-480, original I-880).
Love how you (intentionally?) left off everybody's favorite CA interstate :bigass:
LOL, it was not intentional! Not at all! And I've been on 238 many many many times, I just forgot. LOL

Technically it is (as unsigned I-305). I intentionally omitted it since I wasn't listening Interstate business loops in general, though I can totally see a case for it being in there on its own.

Never. :D With the suffixes and 494/694, we're the most uniquely numbered metro area around.
New Jersey has 76, 676, 78, 278, 287, 80, 280, 95, 195, and 295
