Olympia to Everett is pretty dense throughout, however; the rest of the "North Sound" is not.   While Bellingham already has an inset, and Mount Vernon/Burlington might be deserving (if they're feeling generous, like you said), there's a whole lot of nothing in between the cities once you get past Everett.

I could see why the OP would like to see Dodge City as an insert inset map. With the tourist attractions and the casino, it might seem warranted. Especially for someone coming in from the southeast on U.S. 400, where you can't go straight to the casino or Boot Hill. To get to either from that direction, you either have to:
* - turn right at U.S. 56-283 and go over the bridge to Wyatt Earp Blvd., then turn left and take it all the way though town before turning right on U.S. 50
or
* - go all the way around Dodge City on U.S. 400 to where it intersects with U.S. 50, then backtrack east about two miles and turn left (for the casino) where U.S. 50 heads north to go around Dodge (For Boot Hill, you'd keep going east on Wyatt Earp).

It's not easy to get there from northbound 283, either.

KDOT's map has insets for pretty much any city over 15,000. Pittsburg, Hays and Great Bend would be the smallest ones included.

One that I think needs expanding both in size and scope is Atlanta. The Atlanta inset in Rand McNally is basically the same as it has been since at least the 90s from what I remember. The current inset on the north end doesn't even go out as far as Roswell and only barely includes Marietta. On the east end it includes only a very small portion of Gwinnett County and includes very little east of I-285. I think on the east it should at least go out as far as Stone Mountain, considering its importance as a tourist attraction. I think it should cover an entire page, with the Central Atlanta inset moving to a separate page.

The OP has Pascagoula, MS in his wish list. Actually, I'd expand the Gulfport-Biloxi inset to include Pascagoula, or possibly even the entire MS coast.
