Lincoln Tunnel Expressway…Manhattan Street Shortcut?

Is it possible that using 30th to the LTE and exiting here at 39th is a shortcut to the "surface streets"?

I've never seen that exit open before. Don't count on it.

True. If that exit is closed and there is no signage for it, they'll end up going through the tunnel.

However...could it be possible for one to turn off of W 36th onto the LTE? I looked at Street View there and I didn't see anything that says you can't.
