Old routing of US 59 in Houston

What was the routing of US 59?  This map shows 2 routings as mainline 59.  It also shows 2 US 75 norths.  What's the deal?

It also shows US 90 disappearing and turning into US 290.

Judging from the print on the side, the 75 duplexed with 290 on Washington was actually 90. Misprint.

Couldn't tell you which 59 is real, though.

I talked to an old timer from the area, and US59 was Fannin as far as he knows. Since that was the major road with the hospitals being built there, then adding Rice south of Herman park.

Mainline US75 was North main to Airline since well north of the city of Houston at the time, it went to Spring, then to Conroe, by going through Mount Houston and Bammel.
