If somebody could I would greatly appreciate it...I need to see a scan of Effingham County, Illinois from the DeLorme Atlas and Gazetteer. I am thinking about buying this atlas but I need to know how the highway shields look on the map. I had bought the Indiana DeLorme Atlas and Gazetteer and the shields are butt ugly. Just wanna know what I am paying for beforehand. Much thanks!

I have the DeL Illinois Atlas and Gaz. However I do not have a scanner to show you what the maps look like. IMO, the shields are not ugly like the one for Indiana that I have seen. They are pretty good looking.

Thanks! I just couldn't believe how hideous the shields were portrayed in the Indiana atlas...I should have sent it back...lol

Btw, which edition do you have? I see listings for 2000 and 2006...

I would think that the accuracy of the maps would be what's important, not what the route marker shields look like.
Government would be tolerable if not for politicians and bureaucrats.

Off topic, but I was just in Effingham last week as an overnight stop while clinching I-57. We decided to try to order a pizza from the Effingham Pizza Hut and have it delivered to the Best Western we were staying at, since we didn't know anything about the town or where any restaurants were, and since it was around 9 PM and we'd been driving all day we didn't really want to hunt for somewhere to eat. They said they would deliver to us and it would arrive in about thirty minutes... thirty minutes came and went, then an hour... so we tried to call back, and they wouldn't answer the phone! I guess they tried to deliver to the wrong room number or hotel, but for whatever reason never called us back (maybe whoever they delivered to paid for it and ate it themselves?). So we ended up eating Lunchables from our cooler that night instead. Aaaaand that's my Effingham story.

I would have to dig it up but I am pretty sure it is the 2000 edition. It does not have the extension of 355 in it but does have the completion of the Boughton Rd interchange as a full interchange.

Did you order that pizza with extra effing ham?

Wouldn't matter, since the effing Pizza Hut doesn't bring you your effing ham pizza.
