Sounds like Botts Dots on 'roids!  Was that the way these LED devices came across to you?

US 101 is THE backbone of the Pacific coast from Bandon OR to Willits CA.  Industry, tourism and local traffic would be gone or severely crippled without it being in functioning condition in BOTH states.

Except I would imagine they are flat (at least that was the implication in another thread about similar devices).

It's amazing that it took this long for someone to try this.

If it weren't for the MUTCD's reflectorization requirements, it might be an interesting idea to try button copy again, but this time with LEDs instead of button reflectors.

There are similar lane markers on the Arroyo Seco Parkway in Los Angeles for the 5 NB ramp. They were installed a few years ago to help drivers figure out what lane to be in for the ramp.
