Hey guys, pictures from Interstate 84 West in Connecticut are now live on my site.  http://www.crosscountryroads.com

Check them out if you wish!  Video updates to come probably tomorrow.

I'm very glad to see that more of the "Phase III" signs (button-copy white outline) are being replaced by the superior black-on-white route markers on I-84 (such as CT 70, and almost everything west of Waterbury). Good riddance to Phase III.

And it seems that the good 1976-1982 signs on I-84 east of Manchester (some of the best looking signs in CT at the time) were never replaced. Only recently IMO has CT signage improved beyond that quality, mainly with greater modern MUTCD compliance (aligned exit tabs, larger initial caps, etc)

Thanks for posting the pictures!

@ CCR: A slight correction is needed on your I-84 Connecticut county list. Heading westbound, you'd get:

Tolland County (Union)
Windham County (Ashford)
Tolland County (Willington to Vernon)
Hartford County (Manchester to Southington)
New Haven County (Cheshire to Southbury)
Fairfield County (Newtown to Danbury)

The mile markers with the interstate shields in western Connecticut were put in within the last two years or so. We don't have them here in New Britain (Exits 35 to 37). Also, the mile marker 50 signs in Plainville (by the CT Route 72 exits) are missing.
