Notice the wrong direction of the diagonal cut on the stem of the lowercase P in Dauphin. Looks like an upside-down backwards lowercase B.

Nice to see some stuff from western Canada.  Thanks for sharing.

Nice catch. Older signs (before 1995) in Saskatchewan tend to do that sometimes. Not sure if it's the sign shop or otherwise. Happens on 'b' and 'd' a lot.

Speaking of the sign shop, they need to take more care about their kerning process, especially the Clearview versions.

Congrats on your new page, Signgeek.

Thanks for checking it out txstateends.

Most of the signs kerning isn't that bad, but there are certainly some that need work. This one's kerning especially bothers me, but there are more out there. I think though it's because Clearview 5WR was used instead of 5W, which should have been used. I also heard however, that Clearview is more difficult to get the kerning right. Still not an excuse to produce signs that are slightly 'off'.

Some pictures of my trip to Kenora:

ON 17 Eastbound at ON 17 Exit (East of previous)

Older signage. Notice the classic arrows and rounded border at the edges. New Ontario signs are square.

ON 17 Eastbound Reassurance Shield

An old reassurance shield. The Arial Narrow directional tab is not MTO installed I don't think.

ON 17 Old Trailblazer Shield
by Sign Geek, on Flickr

An old trailblazer shield. Difficult to read due to bad lighting and fading of the sign.

Ontario now uses mixed-case for distance signs.
