When I was 14, I decided I wanted to collect every marked state highway in Illinois.  To collect them, I would travel all around the state and take a picture of a shield marking that highway.  About ten years later, I can say I have gotten a shield photo of every marked state-maintained highway in Illinois.  Now I want to collect every Interstate and U.S. Highway, plus 3 particular state highways from each state.  The three state highways will make three collages consisting of every number from 1 to 55 (with some other shields mixed in, as long as each is distinct).

Main point- Here's the set of original sign assembly photos from which I cropped out the shields for my collection!  I thought these pictures might be enjoyable to all y'all.  I also added this folder to my signature below.  https://flic.kr/s/aHskuxz37e
The folder with just the shields is here- https://flic.kr/s/aHsktU4co1

(there are about 420 signs in total; I have acquired about 180.)
Avatar is the last interesting highway I clinched.

A.J. Bertin has an album of photos of every state highway in Michigan, which he took with a film camera.
