There used to be signs all over south Polk County at road junctions.  These small gray signs were shaped like arrows, and had numbers in them, usually 5 digit numbers.  I was always told they were Weyerhauser routes.  Weyerhauser is a timber company.  Has anybody ever seen these signs?

QuoteThe Ed Banks Low Water Bridge that crosses the Cossatot River from the east side on Weyerhaeuser Road #52000 (Ed Banks Road), and from the west on Weyerhaeuser Road #82000, in Cossatot River State Park-Natural Area will be closed to all vehicles beginning November 1, according to State Parks Director Greg Butts.

Perhaps they're similar to national forest routes, but on a private forest.

I think I'll number my driveway Hoger Route 631.

You'd have to also define Old Hoger Routes and claim an abandoned Hoger Route somewhere.

Really?  Are there now hordes of roadgeeks clamoring to clinch the Weyerhaeuser Roads?  For some reason, I don't believe that......

PS   I didn't realize till now that Weyerhaeuser had that third e in the middle.

If I lived in the area, I would give it a shot.

~ Alps Routes are hereby defined as those routes that are and are not paved in concrete, are and are not abandoned, and are and are not contiguous. I offer NJ 324 as an example.

neato!  I just remember I had something like 9 1/2 hours to get from Joplin, MO to Houston, TX, to catch a plane - so time was of the essence.
