Time for 61? I think so.
It's not.  We haven't even been on 60 for 15 hours yet, let alone 24.

Hmm, I was going off the timestamp of OP's original post (which, for me, reads August 11, 2016, 09:09:10 AM vs my post at Today (Oct 12) at 10:53:46 AM, compare to http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=days+since+august+11 , from which you have to subtract one for the original day zero). OP's introduction of 60 was also several hours late, going by that same original time. If that's wrong I'll remove my post.

The 24-hour rule states, "The 24-hour clock starts with the first post posted for a particular number, or a post by the moderator indicating that the number has advanced." The moderator did not post a "59 is now in play" post, so we look instead to when the first post posted for 59 took place. That was at 8:20pm October 10. 24 hours after that, at 8:37pm October 11, jbnv posted that "60 is now in play." (So, only 17 minutes late.) 24 hours after that post, when 61 comes into play, will be this evening. At least, that's all according to how the time stamps are showing up for me (in EDT, if that matters).

I'll concede to that. I'll delete and repost later, then. It seems silly to not base it upon exact 24 hour periods after the first post, but them's the rules and I'll play by them.

KY 61 crosses the state from Louisville to the Tennessee line. This is near its terminus in downtown Louisville, on a one way southbound street. For some reason, Kentucky seems to often have difficulty centering the digits on the KY 61 signs.

I like this assembly since drivers must turn right for both North KY 61 and South KY 61. This photo was taken heading east on ALT US 60 in Louisville. 60 is about to cross two one-way streets, just several dozen feet before those two streets merge together to become a single two-way street -- those streets being NB/SB KY 61. Here traffic is allowed to turn right (southward) onto the south-heading one-way street, but is not allowed to turn left (northward) onto the north-heading one-way street. So, not only does South KY 61 traffic have to turn right (southward) here, but so does North KY 61 traffic. Drivers who want to go north on KY 61 travel south for those several dozen feet until the two one-way streets merge, and at the merge traffic can basically make a U-turn and start heading north on KY 61, their originally intended direction. https://www.google.com/maps/@38.2142155,-85.7430613,17z

Yikes that sign's design is off. The arrow placement, not to mention the Clearview...

Anyway, here's mine. Ontario 61 in Thunder Bay, one block south of its northern terminus. The 'EAST / WEST' is redundant, but is present anyway. Taken September 2016.

Let's try this again.

Carver CR-61 (former alignment of US-212) meeting MN-101 (now CR-101) in Chanhassen. The junction has since been reconstructed into a roundabout. July 20, 2012.

US-61 shields at the current west end of MN-96 in White Bear Lake. This display has since been replaced with a single US-61 shield and arrow. May 20, 2011.

Main St (CR-61) in Pine City. February 26, 2016.

I'll also take us on the north side of Lake Superior.  First, a little south/west of Thunder Bay, Ontario.  July 18, 2015.

And then down to Duluth, for the southern end of Minnesota 61.  Also July 18, 2015.

Continuing south, into Mediapolis, Iowa, for a US 61 that's also the Great River Road National Route.  June 27, 2013.
