Maybe you haven't seen the "COCKS" baseball hats? Not sure any of the SC teams actually wear them, but they definitely are for sale, and I've seen non-athletes wear them.

While on this tangent, what's with all the [team name] MENTALITY and CREATE YOURS [team logo] shirts I've seen? I gather that is the doing of competing athletic wear companies, but what's the point, especially when most everybody seems to be wearing one or the other? Makes me go "huh?.

UConn is knocked out of the women's tournament, by Mississippi State in a buzzer-beater at the end of overtime. Finally!

South Carolina beat Stanford in the other semi-final (grrr), so SC still has a shot at winning both the men's and women's tournaments in the same year (as UConn has done).

Seriously, I believe Kentucky fans are like FC Barcelona ones. Both argue officials/referees steal their matches.

The Final Four has arrived. The last three matches are to be played at the Cardinals Stadium. The "University of Phoenix Stadium" name would be valid under my naming policy if it was the home stadium for them, but they don't even have an intercollegiate athletics program, and thus they have to be removed. As always times are Eastern.

6:10 p.m.: No. 7E South Carolina vs No. 1W Gonzaga
8:50 p.m.: No. 3MW Oregon vs No. 1S North Carolina
Supporter of the construction of several running gags, including I-366 with a speed limit of 85 mph (137 km/h) and the Hypotenuse.

Please note that I may mention "invalid" FM channels, i.e. ending in an even number or down to 87.5. These are valid in Europe.

Heh.  Back when UMass lost to Kentucky in the Sweet 16 in the early 1990s (my favorite UMass team), us Minutemen fans blamed it on a UK-friendly ref that called Calipari being just outside the coach box when UMass was on its only run in the game.

My cousins in Kentucky seem to be taking the loss in stride, though.  I actually haven't heard many sour grapes about it.

The University Of Phoenix has the best home record in collegiate sports history since they have never lost as the host...LOL!

Wyoming plays Coastal Carolina for the CBI Championship

In game 3 of a best of 3 series, a neat feature the CBI has used for its championship round since its inception. Interesting that Wyoming scored 81 points in both of the first two games, losing the first by 10 and winning the second by  24.

Wyoming is the CBI champion and St Peter's is the CIT champion.

Gonzaga beats the Cocks, and now it's time to see whether they'll play the Webfoots or Tarheels

epzik8

Oh my goodness. Gonzaga is impressive.

And the same crew made hats that said "BEAVERS" and "WOODY" as well. That said, I haven't seen any of those styled hats in at least a decade. But, I haven't been around any kids (aka college environment) since then, either.

I correctly predicted the National Championship game would be between two No. 1 seeds... though not the correct ones :-D (I had predicted Villanova vs Kansas, turned out to be Gonzaga vs North Carolina).

I picked UNC to win it all in my bracket, but I will be rooting for the Bulldogs tomorrow night.

I knew it would be a matter of time before Gonzaga made it to the national championship game; I'll be rooting for them to beat UNC tonight.
Go Cubs Go! Go Cubs Go! Hey Chicago, what do you say? The Cubs are gonna win today!

Somehow, I knew that UNC would not get denied for a second year in a row.

Ugh. Of course North Carolina had to win it all. One of my dad's brothers is a North Carolina fan. My dad and I are both Maryland fans and with Maryland being a former ACC school, you can guess how we feel about that.

What is a "Tar Heel" anyways?  I've never seen a definitive definition of what it supposed to represent.

Seeing this result (and my busted bracket) helps me understand why many people are sick of the Patriots.

"Oh, it's not just because they win all the time, it's because the Pats are cheaters!"

Good game though, and congrats to the winners

Heck, if they end up vacating North Carolina's title then I'll consider no March Madness was played, much like I consider NIT wasn't contested in 1997, 1998 and 2003.

But at least UNC brought me to victory in my secondary bracket. Heck, my main bracket performed poorer than my two back-up brackets!

List of 2016-17 D1 Tournament Champions.

NCAA= North Carolina
NIT= TCU
CBI= Wyoming
CIT= St. Peter's

I made a bracket for each of those tournaments and I only picked the champion correctly in one of them (the NCAA). Overall the NIT this year was by far the most exciting tournament. There were upsets everywhere in that tournament.

The NCAA tournament finally got better in the second round, but I wasn't as excited about it this year as I usually am. And of course there were 3 teams (SC, Zaga, Oregon) that could've won it all that would have made March Madness a lot better, but of course the team that seems to win a championship quite often (UNC) won it all. The championship game in my opinion was awful. Those refs were so whistle happy. I wish they would've let them play a little more, after all it is a championship game. Literally everyone was in foul trouble and no one could get into any kind of rhythm.
