Here's my I-182 sign:

I-184 is up to bat...

ilpt4u

Random rules clarification...and not exactly needed for I-184, either...

Since we have gone with shields from repeated 3di route numbers...

I assume that when a single 3di route traverse multiple states, that only 1 shield from the route is needed? Such as already covered I-129 in IA/NE, or I-155 in MO/TN?

You are absolutely correct. Only one shield for that is needed. Granted, there'll be plenty of others, like I-275 in OH/KY and I-495 in MD/VA, but we just need one example of those routes.

Moving on with I-184:

IIRC, there are two instances of I-185 that will need to be covered next.
Go Cubs Go! Go Cubs Go! Hey Chicago, what do you say? The Cubs are gonna win today!

Here's Georgia's I-185.  We also need South Carolina's.  Taken in Columbus.  July 8, 2008.

Was that supposed to be Phoenix City?

The city is called Phenix City. The misspelling was chosen by the city, not the sign.

Yup, had family that lived in Phenix City, AL. Had to make sure with the parents that was the actual spelling if mailing something

Another finer point on the rules, for when we get there: Is I-265 in the Louisville metro now considered one Interstate route, or still gapped? The route is now complete across the Ohio, but it is not signed on the new segment (yet). I am not sure if a similar situation exists elsewhere

Still gapped. Kentucky's portion north of I-71 is signed only as KY 841, and Indiana's portion between the river and I-65 is still signed IN 265.

I would expect application to be made to AASHTO/FHWA at some point, and I really think Kentucky should drop KY 841 and extend I-265 west to 841's end at US 31W/US 60.
Government would be tolerable if not for politicians and bureaucrats.

I am aware that I-265 is still officially gapped in terms of signage/designation, as its not signed over the new approach roads to the East End/Lewis and Clark River Bridge on both sides of the Ohio, or to put it another way, between I-71 in KY and I-65 in IN.

I was more thinking in the interest of the sign game here...when we get there (still a ways to go), should I-265 (KY/IN) be treated as one route, and only need one shield, or two separate I-265s, and therefore need an Indiana I-265 shield and a Kentucky I-265 shield

Its also the only 3di I can think of off the top of my head, that presents a situation like this, where a previously gapped multi-state 3di has had the gap physically closed, but the completed Freeway/Toll Bridge (in this case) has not yet been approved to sign it as one continuous 3di

Well, I can play both so...  :-D

I can't at the moment, but will be over in that neck of the woods in the not too distant future... (and most likely before we get there in the game)

Anyway, still a ways to go, and I certainly don't have an I-185 pic, tho I've driven on the GA one and driven by the SC one...

I never really thought about taking pictures of Interstate shields at that point in life!

Jim

I have I-185 SC also, but I'm supposed to wait 48 hours before posting consecutively.  So tomorrow morning I'll post it unless we move on before then.

48 hours, so I can now post an I-185 South Carolina.  This from I-85.  May 25, 2005.

And we continue up in Vermont with I-189.

That is one huge 85. Reminds me of some of the older I-15 signs in UT.

Jim

In case anyone's still interested, I'll see if I can get this going again by applying the 48-hour rule.

Here's I-189 in Vermont.  August 3, 2002.

I-190 should be easier, but we have 4 of them to cover.  MA, NY, IL, SD.

Mine aren't great for most I-190s but here's a Massachusetts that's not too bad.  November 27, 2004.

I believe we continue with two I-194 versions to cover.

Question:  Are we to skip ND's I-194 since it isn't currently signed in the field?

If there aren't any signs, how can we post a picture of the sign?

WAIT We still have to do Michigan's I-194.  I was just saying that North Dakota's is moot.
