Did MA 9 ever extend westward into NY from Pittsfield, MA?

Don't believe so, since the road west of US 7 becomes a local street, and US 20's westward departure from the US 7 concurrency is a block south.  Also, US 20 predates MA 9 by 7 years, so US 20 wouldn't have replaced any old segments of MA 9.  There was a NY 9 before US 9 was created, but it was a former number for NY 7, which becomes VT 9.
Interstates I've clinched: 97, 290 (MA), 291 (CT), 291 (MA), 293, 295 (DE-NJ-PA), 295 (RI-MA), 384, 391, 395 (CT-MA), 395 (MD), 495 (DE), 610 (LA), 684, 691, 695 (MD), 695 (NY), 795 (MD)

Ah, maybe the former NY 9 is what I am thinking of.

There is no record of such ever having occurred, based on old MassDPW records.

MA 9 first appears on the official Massachusetts Highway Map in 1933 running from Kenmore Square in Boston to US 7 in Pittsfield. It's route included replacing the original MA 109 from US 20 in W. Brookfield to Pittsfield which was signed through 1932.
