I don't even.

Also, isn't "ONE WAY" a white arrow on a black background?

It can be either or.  MUTCD R6-1 is the one you posted, the other version (in 1995hoo's posted photo) is MUTCD R6-2.

Delaware has a lot of keep left signs at intersections like this. Here's one at the intersection of DE 4 and DE 7 in Stanton.

The eastern end of the Pont Victoria in Montreal has some of a more conventional design than the screwed-up District of Columbia sign I posted earlier.

I actually prefer a worded keep left sign with a left pointed arrow.  The diametric sign looks too much like the opposing keep right sign and the less common sign could be confused for the other.

Isn't that location more appropriately set up with a double-downward arrow diamond sign (W12-1), or at least some sort of object marker (common although possibly not the intended use of such markers)?  The KEEP LEFT sign suggests that it's not legal to exit right of the sign, and that the roadway coming out there is one-way oncoming.

Exactly what I thought. That implies that your direction of travel only goes left, when it really goes both ways.

I don't think that is used right either. I think it should just use some sort of left arrow, because that looks like it's telling you to go straight.

They signed it that way because through traffic goes left.  The right route ends at a one-way frontage road and requires a 3-mile detour to get back on track.  I always thought there should be a "Farm Road 1187" sign with a left upward arrow.  That would make it clear that through traffic goes left but a maneuver to the right is permitted.  It would draw attention to the details, rather than letting some people automatically see a "keep right" sign.

Black on white = Regulatory. Since traffic has the option of taking either fork, the sign isn't valid.  Technically, based on the sign, one could receive a ticket for taking the right fork.

An intersection near me with the same type issue (main thruway curves to the left) has a Combo Curve/Intersection Sign (W1-10) approaching the intersection, with the Double Arrow W12-1 warning sign and some chevron arrows at the split (Here's the Google Maps Link: http://goo.gl/maps/rUzA2 .  The signs have been upgraded since with larger, newer signs).

This one on FM 1187 is just a ridiculous error.

In Leesburg FL, a double arrow (for T Intersections) is used at a split

Here's one in Denton, Tx on Morse St that uses a KEEP LEFT and a double arrow.

An even worse error used to exist in Dallas on the I-30 WB Frontage Rd at the main Post Office driveway. There was a large KEEP RIGHT symbol sign incorrectly directing motorists off the frontage road and into the driveway. This area has been reconfigured and the original situation no longer exists to show y'all on streetview

Found this thread AND I found another one in Seattle. Strange situation because you seem to be driving on the opposite side of the road (for a very short time, granted). It's the result of an exit ramp from 99 south.
