So the story goes that the founder of White Castle retired to Miami and allowed several locations to operate there from 1959 to 1967. However, the locations were closed because the returns could not justify operating locations so far from their support facilities. Now, after over a half-century of waiting, the Sunshine State appears to be ready for a new location in Orlando not too far from both Disney World and SeaWorld.

If I wanted to eat at a White Castle, I would have to drive 200 miles to Saint Louis. For that reason, I don't know if Florida lost something good or not.

Florida hasn't been missing much.  The sliders are okay but are infamous for causing stomach issues.

Happened into one when I was in Indianapolis a few years ago after a tour of Lucas Oil Stadium.  Wasn't impressed, and someone in there was really tweaked out.  Nearest ones to me are in the NYC area about 75 miles away.
Interstates I've clinched: 97, 290 (MA), 291 (CT), 291 (MA), 293, 295 (DE-NJ-PA), 295 (RI-MA), 384, 391, 395 (CT-MA), 395 (MD), 495 (DE), 610 (LA), 684, 691, 695 (MD), 695 (NY), 795 (MD)

I ate at one a couple years ago, more for the novelty than the quality. Same with Krystal burgers.

I don't think anyone has ever said "Man, I was really impressed by those White Castle burgers".

Does White Ccastle have the little Chili/Cheese Dogs and Corn Dogs like Krystal?

Makes sense, for the same reason Wawa and Culvers being in Florida makes sense. They're following all the retirees and vacationers from up north. This makes it an easier business proposition than expanding into a market where the local population is not familiar with them.

Note that they're talking about moving into Orlando. Miami, Tampa, and other locales on the peninsula will logically follow because that's where the target demographic is.

I'd be really impressed if they started opening locations in the panhandle.
If you always take the same road, you will never see anything new.

I haven't but my Dad raved about them all the time.  He always to stop in Michigan City to get sliders on the way back from Chicago.

My dad did, too. However, I'd suspect the quality isn't the same as it once was (like most fast food chains)

See in the 1980s I don't recall there being much quality with White Castle food.  In fact I remember White Castle being one of the first places in the Mid-West which was bagged on for being low quality and unhealthy.  Considering my Dad's diet got infinitely worse in the late 1980s and early 1990s I suspect he just liked the greasy little sliders.

I do this, but with one of the locations in the Twin Cities area. The locations in Blaine and Forest Lake are my two most visited.

Me too. In fact, I can attest that I have eaten 15 of them in one sitting before. :)
