New edition of MUTCD in the works

I did a forum search and couldn't find this being brought up, but apparently back in Oct 2018 the FHWA announced that a new MUTCD is in development.

According to the press release, a draft for review was supposed to be released for comment in Spring 2019.  I searched some more online and couldn't find any further updates from FHWA on this.  Does anyone know if this is still being developed?  Also, what are your thoughts on the new version including accommodation for technology and automated vehicles?  What topics/sections of the manual do you think would change?

apologies, after refining my search terms, I did find this topic on the forum back when the announcement was made so feel free to delete this topic.  However it's been awhile since its been discussed.  Has anyone heard anything on this? Wondering what the actual year of the revision will be, considering the snail's pace.
