Here's a future development we can discuss at the Columbus road meet in May.  :)

Damn shame ODOT is going to spend 2 million on this when MORPC has done a study and report on this since 2003.  :eyebrow:

Please, don't sue Alex & Andy over what I wrote above

^ I don't really care for the new stoplight for EB traffic; I'd rather see the NB to EB ramp designed similarly to the inner SB to WB ramp, or a Michigan left design used for at Frantz Road to compensate for the short distance for NB I-270 traffic to weave across US 33.

Notice, in Phase 1 they widen the 33 WB bridge to accommodate an improved merge for the ramp from 270 NB, but in Phase 2 (not pictured – where did I find that before?) that loop ramp is gone anyway.  I think for the interim between the two phases, they can make do with the geometry as it is on and just east of that bridge; is it really that hard to get FHWA to approve a design variance that's both temporary and a marginal improvement over existing conditions?

Also, I kind of miss the feature of MORPC's older design, which had US 33 exit itself.  The left lanes of 33 EB would flow to 270 SB, and the ramp from 270 NB would become the left lanes of 33 WB.  Made sense from the standpoint of separating local from long-distance traffic.
Wait, it's all Ohio? Always has been.
