Out on vacation in Colorado this week, where US 6 has several concurrencies with I-70. That, along with the US 6 concurrency with I-80/94 right by my house got me wondering about which US highway has concurrencies with the largest number of 2di interstates.

US 6 has a total of 11: I-95, I-84, I-81, I-94, I-80, I-74, I-29, I-25, I-76 (W), I-70, I-15

Does anything beat that?
Indiana: counties 100%, highways 100%
Illinois: counties 100%, highways 61%
Michigan: counties 100%, highways 56%
Wisconsin: counties 86%, highways 23%

US 52 has 10 and will have 11 when I-69 is signed on I-465:

I-94, I-35W, I-35E, I-65, I-74, (I-69), I-75, I-64, I-77, I-81, I-85

US 51, in Illinois alone, has 6: I-57, I-72, I-74, I-55, I-39, I-90.

Going south, I-69 is coming soon in KY and TN. I guess that only makes 7, tho

US 52 makes it to currently 9, soon to be 10 I think: I-94, I-35E, I-65, I-74, Future I-69, I-75, I-64, I-77, I-81, I-85

Looking on the map, I'm not sure I-35W counts for US 52. US 52 is along I-94 thru Downtown Minneapolis. I-94 and I-35W never actually merge to one roadway – they are parallel carriageways/Interstates for that short segment, a la 355/88 or 290/294 outside Chicago

That is why I counted 9/soon 10 for US 52, anyway

I was looking at a paper map and I was afraid that might happen.

Even if it did count as a true multiplex, then we have a philosophical discussion on whether US 52 multiplexing along both I-35E and I-35W counts as multiplexing with 1 or 2 2dis, since both are I-35, in a manner of speaking

A question of technicalities that even the wisest of men might never have answer to. Let me ask this: how many 2dis does I-2 intersect?

Also, another question might be how many concurrencies does an interstate have overall, as even in just in Colorado, US6 has (if I count correctly) 10 concurrencies with I-70?

Here's another point regarding US-52.

In the future, the eastern I-74 will run concurrent with US-52 between Mt. Airy and Winston-Salem.

Officially, the I-74's are slated to become one continuous highway, but in reality, they're practically two separate highways, a western one in Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio between I-80 and Cincinnati and an eastern one in North Carolina between I-77 and Wilmington, as they will never realistically be built in between.. Do they count as one or two separate interstates?

US 30 comes close, but no cigar.  I counted 8: I-5, I-84 (W), I-86 (W), I-15, I-80, I-69, I-70, & I-76 (E)
"Now, what if da Bearss were to enter the Indianapolis 5-hunnert?"
"How would they compete?"
"Let's say they rode together in a big buss."
"Is Ditka driving?"
"Of course!"
"Then I like da Bear buss."
"DA BEARSSS BUSSSS"

Let's qualify those
I-405 (Fremont Bridge; 3di, not counting)
I-5 (I-405-I-84)
I-84 1* (I-5-Cascade Locks; however, not signed from Exit 17 to 35, implied to follow US 30H)
I-84 2 (Cascade Locks-Hood River)
I-84 3 (Hood River-Mosier)
I-84 4 (The Dalles-Pendleton)
I-84 5 (Pendleton-La Grande)
I-84 6 (La Grand-Baker)
I-84 7 (Baker-Ontario)
I-84 8 (New Plymouth-Bliss)
I-84 9 (Burley-I-86)
[Former] I-84 10 (Huntington spur-Ontario; now US 30B)
*I-84 "10" or "11" [if including former Huntington spur] (Exit 35-Cascade Locks; unofficial but implied routing)
I-86 (I-84-Pocatello)
I-15 (Pocatello-McCammon)
I-80 1 (Granger Junction-Exit 235)
I-80 2 (Laramie-Cheyenne)
I-80 3 (Cheyenne-Pine Bluffs)
[no interstate overlaps through NE, IA, IL]
I-69 (west Fort Wayne-I-469)
I-469 (I-69-New Haven; 3di not counting)
I-376 (Robinson Township-Wilkinsburg; 3di not counting)
I-70 (Breezewood)
I-76 (Philly Zoo-I-676)
I-676 (Philadelphia-Camden; 3di not counting)
All told, US 30 has 18 to 20 2di overlaps, depending how you look at the situation in the Columbia River Gorge and if you count the 30B through Huntington (as I don't believe AASHTO's ever approved 30 moving onto I-84 here).
(Adding in the four 3dis, 30 has 22-24 interstate overlaps)

US 6, your turn.
