The Army is developing a new type of explosive called bis-oxadiazole. It's 50% more powerful than TNT and its production is much better for the environment. This would be helpful for highway building where they need to blast away hills.

I told my sons about your idea.  The eldest said it's a bad idea.  Reason:  You can't control exactly where the explosion happens.
