I-495, cause nobody cares whether you work inside or outside I-376.
I-435, cause KC is better than every city with an I-270 put together.
I-155, cause it's one of the only ways to get directly from MO to TN and that's kinda cool. Also, visiting Houston seems like torture.
I-405, cause it's the only 3di other than 155 left in this tournament that I've never been on and still want to see someday.

Just those 4 or are you going to give opinions on the other 4 later on?

Also, you're the first person I've met that prefers Kansas City over Denver, St Louis, Columbus and DC combined :)

Scott5114

I don't have opinions on the others since I've never been on them, or they didn't make enough of an impression for me to remember them if I have.

Never been to Denver, but St Louis is kind of like if they took Kansas City and dropped it on the floor, Columbus didn't really impress me much, and DC has too many [insert political party you don't like] senators in it.

As a current Denver metro resident who lived in KC for 11 years, I like KC better than Denver and St. Louis.  (I like Colorado far more, however, than Kansas or Missouri as a whole.)  Haven't spent enough time in DC or Columbus to have too much of an opinion on the other two.

Also, I read somewhere that KC has relatively less traffic congestion on its freeways compared to metro areas its size (St Louis, Indy, Cincy, Columbus, Pittsburgh, etc), not sure how true it is though.

It's true.  At least last time I saw the stats, KC had the most freeway mileage per capita of any metro area.  There are very few places with congestion like you find in places like Denver, Atlanta, LA, etc.

Chris
Driving in KC is so nice, especially compared to Denver.

East:
295 vs. 287
The variety of different 295s gives it the win.

495 vs. 376
Best scenery of any 3di?

Sunshine Skyway.

270 vs. 435
More variety.

155 vs. 610

West:
680 vs. 210
Evenly matched, but 210 wins because of the Lake Charles segment.

405 vs. 110
I wanted to see 110 in the final four. The Cinderella of the tournament.

495 vs. 287
Seems evenly matched to me, but giving it to 495 because of the downtown NYC section.

270 vs. 294
294 seems boring. 270, not so much.

285 vs. 610
610 is much more interesting than 285. It has tall buildings beside it, it has a giant bridge, the Astrodome is right off it, it is arguably more photogenic (when it floods), and it has more impressive interchanges. 285 can't compete.

680 vs. 405
Another pretty evenly matched matchup, but since there are three 405s, I'll give it the win.

EAST
I like I-495 over I-287, because there are at least two famous freeways carrying that number.

MIDWEST
As much as I like I-294, I'll go with I-270 for the win.

SOUTH
I-285 gets the nod for me, simply because it goes around the South's most important city.

WEST
Because both L.A. and Seattle have I-405, I take that over I-680.

E: 495. Easy.
MW: 294. The 270s are meh and should have never made it this far. 294 should win on oases alone.
S: Don't really care on this one but I'll say 285. I've driven by it more often and it gets bonus points for going under a runway.
W: 405. Super easy.

I just came across this thread, is it too late to join the party?

EAST
I-495. The Tappan Zee Gov Mario M. Cuomo Bridge isn't enough to beat the most important beltway in the country. And then there's the Queens-Midtown Tunnel.

MIDWEST
I-294 because I'm a toll roads guy lmao

SOUTH
I-610 totally blows I-285 out of the water. Even North Carolina isn't enough to help Atlanta with this one.

WEST
I've never been to the west coast but judging by pictures and playing around on GSV, I-405 wins because of Portland and Bellevue.

Elite Eight Final Results:

EAST:

I-495 vs I-287, 8-2
Long Island reigns supreme over NYC's New Jersey suburbs, with I-495 beating its counterpart, I-287.

MIDWEST:

I-294 vs I-270, 7-3
The many more variants of I-270 played hard, but isn't enough to beat Chicago's I-294.

SOUTH:

I-285 vs I-610, 6-4
This one was a close match, but Atlanta's I-285 managed to get ahead of Houston's I-610.

WEST:

I-405 vs I-680, 8-2
The Bay Area's I-680 isn't enough to beat in-state rival Los Angeles's and tech rival Seattle's I-405.

For the Final Four, I was considering changing it to the 2021 March Madness's setup (East vs West, Midwest vs South), but decided to keep the way I have it, which is the 2020 setup. Here are the Final Four matchups:

EAST vs MIDWEST:

I-495 vs I-294
The nationally known Capital Beltway and Long Island Expressways plays the as popular Tri-State Tollway. Also, there's Boston's outer beltway on I-495's side.

WEST vs SOUTH:

I-405 vs I-285
The west coast's well-known I-405s faces off Atlanta's Perimeter.
