I remember back in the 1990s a place called Hops. They were a chain that pioneered the Micro Brew trend.

Has anyone here ever remembered them?
Every day is a winding road, you just got to get used to it.

I recall going to the one at Potomac Yard in Alexandria, Virginia, once or twice about 24 years ago. As far as I know, it's still there. (edited to add: The sign was still there when the Street View car went through in 2022, but news reports say it closed in 2020.)

"You know, you never have a guaranteed spot until you have a spot guaranteed."
—Olaf Kolzig, as quoted in the Washington Times on March 28, 2003,
commenting on the Capitals clinching a playoff spot.

"That sounded stupid, didn't it?"
—Kolzig, to the same reporter a few seconds later.

They had one in Coral Springs, and it was a decent hangout. They kept bringing you the honey-butter rolls, which were a meal by itself.

Ha, I just drove past it last weekend and I'm pretty sure the signage was still up.

I saw Don Pablo is something else now, too.  A shame - sure, it was far from authentic, but I enjoyed the food for what it was.

Never been to one, but always sad that Applebee's and TGI Friday's persist in the face of these places failing.
