Upside Down D9-2 Hospital Sign

You notice when the white one blue D9-2 Hospital sign is upside-down, and you report it to the authorities. I saw just that, just off I-95 in Baltimore. My report to MdTA

The hospital sign on the exit from NB 95 to Eastern Ave is upside down. This is a minor request, but I noticed the D9-2 Hospital (MD 2011 MUTCD) sign is upside down. The middle 'bar' of the H is supposed to be slightly higher than the center. However, in this case the bar appears lower, thus it is flipped.

They had it corrected promptly.

Thanks, I figured there was such a thread, but this wasn't meant to be just that, but rather something cool related to signs. Have any of you noticed flipped D9-2s?

I found an upside-down Signal Ahead sign on M-129 a couple years ago, which has since been fixed. It got captured on Street View - almost impossible to see, but you can make out the red on the bottom. I never took a photo of it, because I figured everyone would just accuse me of Photoshopping something that's so easily Photoshoppable.

I am surprised that they bothered, since the difference is so minute.

I pass this button copy sign on SH-9 here in Norman that has the initial 'N' in 'Norman' upside down. It is subtle, but noticeable if you're familiar enough with Series E(M). But not everyone is–if I had to guess, the sign dates from the early 1990s!

Excpet that a flipped sign has a lower vertical clearance from the top of road.  Not a huge difference in terms of visibility, but might cause a problem if somebody ran off the road and hit the signpost.  And lawyers love stuff like that when preparing the typical "but for the misplaced sign, my client may not have been injured" type cases against the DOT.

OP said nothing about the sign being misplaced. I was assuming that the sign was installed in the correct spit at the correct height, but upside down. Not sure why the vertical clearance would be any different.
