I like those, especially the second one.

Interesting that the sign is bigger than what the info displayed needs.

I'm so old that almost all of Kentucky's parkways and its Interstate system had this sign beat.  Oh, that should be in another thread...

So, in most cases, you have your standard advance exit signs. In the case of Washington State, it's usually like this:
* The one that says an exit is ahead in one mile with information on what the exit has or where it leads: https://maps.app.goo.gl/xrvAicHeKDyDhE3R8
* The one that says the exit is right there, again with information on what the exit has or where it leads: https://maps.app.goo.gl/r1aLXeJY6k5Cr8549
* And then, of course, the exit gore point sign with just the exit number: https://maps.app.goo.gl/rJxYYprrdYzwiRqy5

In some, but not all, cases, you additionally have a supplemental Next Right sign before the second one in the list above: https://maps.app.goo.gl/23aLWKVCqr89zS186

In the case of Washington State, there are some rare cases where the first sign is placed either 2 miles before the exit or 1/2 before the exit instead of 1 mile:
* Westbound I-82 Exit 3 2 miles: https://maps.app.goo.gl/dPhHGMJvXr8JcY8X7 (eastbound has the standard 1 mile)
* I-82 Exit 29 1/2 mile: https://maps.app.goo.gl/mAzyQvhFQnpwLZbz8

I'm not counting the blue services signs in this, only the green guide signs.

Anyway, Exit 38 on Interstate 90 is a bit of a weird one since they can't even think of a name for it:
* Westbound 1 mile: https://maps.app.goo.gl/vYXQb1RJwzXD7V7J8
* Eastbound 1 mile: https://maps.app.goo.gl/wgSfVP1W4VLqWvqy5

The eastbound one is currently in need of repairs, as something happened to it after that July 2019 capture. I'll have to see if it's still on the ground.

Both directions also do have a supplemental Next Right sign.
* Westbound: https://maps.app.goo.gl/zntdD26j2NdZHrtv7
* Eastbound: https://maps.app.goo.gl/RAEBFjrSEPR3dGQQ9

Once you get to the exit, they again don't have a name for it, so they just have the exit number, which the westbound side doesn't even have:
* Westbound: None
* Eastbound: https://maps.app.goo.gl/LEKHcXE5Rp8rX7MM8

And I tried looking at different captures to see if maybe the sign needs repairs, but there's not a sign standing on any of them.

And then, of course, the exit gore point signs:
* Westbound: https://maps.app.goo.gl/AFQds6NZjTcuEFGv9
* Eastbound: https://maps.app.goo.gl/srEDvGTxjGnD4BKP8

It's also interesting to note that there's about a two-mile difference between Exit 38 on the westbound side and Exit 38 on the eastbound side. Exit 38 is just past milepost 40 on the westbound side and shortly before milepost 38 on the eastbound side.

Spotted some interesting signage in Tennessee on a few day trips to the Nashville area last week. For starters, we have this sign on TN 255 next to the hump in CSX's Radnor Yard in Nashville:

Seen this shield plenty of times coming back to Huntsville from the Nashville area but never got a good photo of it before now. Am I correct in thinking this is using Series F?

Some I-24 shields with very tight kerning:

Some US 231 shields in Fayetteville that just look unusual:

Dashcam screenshot, but heading south on US 231 into Shelbyville reminded me that these things exist:

Smyrna apparently felt that the standard "Do Not Stop on Tracks" sign wasn't urgent enough some years ago:

Finally, is it just me, or does this TN 397 shield feature a badly-drawn state shape at the bottom of it?

IMG_6053 by freebrickproductions, on Flickr

Another dashcam screenshot, but the new DDI at Exit 55 on I-65 in Spring Hill, TN, features these upside down W12-1s, which are also improperly used as they're used on splitter islands rather than the kinds of islands they're supposed to be used for:

^^On the sign you said tight kerning on the I-24 sign on the larger green gign saying Nashville, what I noticed was the extra wide kerning on the rest of the sign.

I think that's E with tight kerning. Still one too wide though (standard specifies D).

Heh.  Back when my father and I were touring colleges, heading to Utah State, there was a deer on the interior of most of the curves of US 89 through Logan Canyon.

The lane control arrows on CR 514 West and I-95 are not placed correctly over the proper lanes. Plus the pull through US Left 3 Lanes is definitely not needed.

The black text being wrapped all around the arrow is something to behold.

Yeah that one too is awful.

I lived once not to far from that interchange in Fords, and remember that the signage there used to be fine.

Now the gantry that was on WB CR 514 at the I-287 ramp is gone and has been per GSV for a long while. You figure they would have included its replacement as part of the project that added these signs. The two aforementioned were part of a 2022 complete replacement along Route 440 from the Outerbridge Crossing to the NJ Turnpike.
