Probably one guide sign where the " New York" refers to state rather than the city.

Considering its location after US 2 enters New York and the fact to the right goes directly into Canada, I would say it's letting those from Vermont know that to go anywhere in the recently entered state one must turn left onto US 11 South.

Junction TO NY 9B?
Looks like the TO Banner is to cover up a mistake as someone probably originally had an erroneous NY 9B shield here.

EDIT: Old maps show that NY 9B once ended at the Canadian Border where  Quebec Route 223 once being a Quebec Route 9B.  Of course A-15 used to be Quebec Route 9 so the Highway Ministry in Quebec used to have child routes like NY does.

The Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign is the only welcome sign I know of that has a welcome sign to the welcome sign.

Odd being it's on NY 276 where you're in the state already.

However the sign is for traffic entering the highway from the right. Just pan the image around and you'll see the US Customs House from a Canada roadway in that direction.

This is the one on LV Blvd, right? I don't think the smaller one on Boulder Hwy has a sign like that.

Gray signs in Clayton, NC

Humph.  I took a picture of one of those crossing signs at the CIA a couple of months ago.  One of the best restaurant experiences I've ever had.

In Oregon, those signs go up in areas that have seen several landslides (example). I'm guessing the road was damaged in the slide and they chose to unpave it.

Also, a clearer shot of a speed sign with "MILES" in Astoria. It's not embossed or visibly old, so maybe it's a like kind replacement of one that was?

TBKS1

A speed limit sign that isn't a multiple of 5, this one's in Plainview, AR.

That's what I thought at the beginning, but it wasn't like the road had any cliff next to it that could slide onto it and it didn't seem like the road was slumping off some slope, either.

Yes, that's the "real one" on LVB, which is enough of a selfie magnet that Clark County has set up a whole parking area, some Astroturf underneath it, and a little hump you can stand on to get yourself in the frame better. There's usually a line; I went at 5am on a Wednesday morning so as to avoid it. (As we were leaving, an elderly couple from Florida showed up, so we helped them with their pictures.)

Walking around on Boulder Highway generally isn't advised—it's one of the rougher parts of town.

The LVB sign also has this sign near it. From time to time the border lights will be changed to different colors in recognition of an event of some kind (e.g. rainbow colors for Pride Month, to match the ribbons for various disease awareness month, etc). When that happens, an explanation will appear here. "Standard Yellow" is for when nothing particular is going on.

But of course, I was there to get a photo of The Sign itself. Various allusions to it appear throughout the city on murals, in the shapes of logos, on political signs, etc. If you want to symbolically represent Vegas, throw a rounded diamond and a starburst in there and people will get what you're going for.

It's tough to see but the circles that each contain a letter of the word WELCOME are painted to look like silver dollars, which were still in use on the Strip when The Sign first went up.

The much-less-photographed back of The Sign. YESCO is the Young Electric Sign Company, which designed, built, and donated The Sign, and I believe they still maintain it. YESCO released the design to the public domain, enabling its use as a symbol of Las Vegas.

They're not particularly common around here, but that is a standard MUTCD sign (W10-11B).

Since when does a turn get an advisory speed sign?  And why is it considered a ramp also?
