Even in the second half Williams was still getting a bunch of pressure.  He made almost all of this big plays either via some really great throws out of pocket or running out of almost certain tackles for loss.  That might have some moments of success but it isn't a sustainable way to do well offensively.

Also, the Bears are 4-8 despite having a +10 turnover margin for the year.  If that doesn't speak to how kneecapped that offense is I don't know what does.

The Bears are pretty middle-of-the-pack offense wise. They're not terrible.

The Bears are in the bottom third of the NFL in passing and rushing yards.  They aren't outright wretched at times to the eye, but they aren't good either.

If Matt Eberflus is still coaching today, why?

Max Rockatansky

Still early in the day and the football weekend.  Although I would probably say it is better to wait to make a change until the off-season with a rookie QB.  Changing the coordinator obviously didn't help.

The Bears have never fired a head coach in season.

As much as I'd hate to lose Al Golden from Notre Dame, he'd be the perfect guy to take over the Bears. With Lincoln Riley floundering at USC, maybe he'd take the opportunity to hook back up with Caleb Williams as offensive coordinator.

Neither has much of a chance of actually happening, but that's my dream scenario.

So then next Thursday night it will be the 9-3 Packers at the 11-1 Lions, A marquis match up if there ever was one.

Q1:  Who would be the best fit Head Coach for the Bears next year?

Q2:  (I hate to say this but...) the Cowboys are on a roll, three impressive games in a row.  They played extraordinarily great vs the Texans hanging tough even midway through the 3rd quarter at one point coming within 17-13, had the FG been accepted instead of the head-slap flag.  Is this enough to earn Mike McCarthy an extended contract from Jerry Jones?  I would say 'Yes'

Q3:  Which running back would you most like to have on your team -- Derrick Henry or Saquon Barkley (or someone else perhaps Joe Mixon)?  My answer is Derrick Henry (wished the Texans could have gotten him).

Q4:  Buffalo or KC which team do you predict will end up the top seed in the AFC?  My response: I'm going to stick with KC.

Can we just stop with the Cowboys?  They beat up on the hapless Giants.  I would have hoped "Dem Boys" wouldn't be a thing on this forum.

The Cowboys will win one more game this year at most.

And it's done.....Eberflus is gone.

Best coach for the Bears? Ben Johnson (Lions OC), Bobby Slowik (Texas OC), Kliff Kingsbury (Commanders OC / former Cardinals HC)

BB won't come to Chicago. And the only way they should hire Vrabel is if he has a concrete plan for how to develop Williams.

Looks like being the first team to lose in Detroit on Thanksgiving Day since 2016 was the last straw for the Bears. As for this...

Wow, the Chiefs' sorcery is truly beyond comprehension at this point. No one will say they're frauds because of their track record of success, but they'd be 2-10 if you flipped their record in one-score games. That's an indicator that goes way beyond "they're just good and know how to close games"... they're legitimately winning games they should have lost, particularly against the Bengals, Broncos, and now the Raiders.

They're a good team, but not close to the juggernaut that an 11-1 record would suggest. They've been consistently mediocre for over a month now, and really should be 8-4 at best. Time will tell if that gap reverses down the stretch or carries over into the playoffs.

My position on the importance of margin of victory is well documented but there's no question that things are different for the Chiefs over the last month or so than they have been before. In Sep. and Oct. they may have been winning close games, but all of them (except maybe CIN in week 2) were within KC's control more or less throughout. In November it's been so difficult and painstaking for KC to win a game even against the worst teams in the league. That's the way I would put it, without getting caught up in a pointless game of "if", "could", "should".

Antonio Pierce is another coach who needs to be relieved of his duties this holiday weekend.

This should be proof enough that the talent difference between teams with the best record and worst record isn't very wide at all.  In my opinion, if the Chiefs played against the Raiders or the Lions squared off against the Giants hypothetically in a seven-game series, I'd be very surprised the Chiefs or Lions swept the series....I'd be expecting a six-game series.  I truly believe a sweep would be very improbable in the NFL.  The Browns beat the Ravens and Steelers this year.  The Titans just beat the Texans in Houston.  Any team can win on any week.

That hit on Lawrence is the worst hit I've seen since Vontaze Burfict was in the league. Ban that defender for life for all I care.

The NFL really needs to adopt the strict targeting rules that college uses. Automatic ejection and suspension for forcible hits to the head/neck.

Except the suspension is for the rest of the game if done in the first half, and for the first half of the following game if done in the second half.
