President Trump has nominated former USHouse Rep. Sean Duffy (R - Ashland, WI) to be Secretary of Transportation, confirmation is expected with few problems.  Any thoughts?

I'm not familiar with him, but a quick glance through his record shows no relevant transportation experience.

Also, Wikipedia indicates that he is currently a resident of New Jersey.

Did either of his two immediate predecessors (Buttgieg or Chao) have any relevant transportation experience?
Government would be tolerable if not for politicians and bureaucrats.

Elaine Chao's family business is a trans-Pacific shipping company. I don't know whether Elaine herself was ever directly involved in the business, however.

As mayor of South Bend, Indiana, Buttigieg campaigned on and oversaw a redevelopment of the city street system, which later won awards from USDOT.
