Turn around and take US-250 to Sandusky, OH:

Henry

From Sandusky, let's take a short drive on OH 2 to Euclid:

Go Cubs Go! Go Cubs Go! Hey Chicago, what do you say? The Cubs are gonna win today!

Jim

Reverse direction on Ohio 2 and continue to Lorain.  June 22, 2013.

From Lorain, it's west on US-6 to Chicago.

paulthemapguy

What if US6 doesn't actually go to Chicago? I guess it doesn't really matter, I don't think there's a rule against a play like that.

Anyways, from Chicago, let's take US14 west to Sioux Falls, SD

The intent is definitely that the route and place for an entry in the chain is a route that goes to that place.  Let's try to do that going forwrd, but I'm ok with the next play coming from either Lorain or Sioux Falls.

Since we last stopped in Sioux Falls, I'll continue from there and take I-29 south to Sioux City:

(Hey, what do you know? It's from one Sioux to another!)
Go Cubs Go! Go Cubs Go! Hey Chicago, what do you say? The Cubs are gonna win today!

Henry

Next, it's on to US 75 south from Sioux City to McKinney, TX:

Go Cubs Go! Go Cubs Go! Hey Chicago, what do you say? The Cubs are gonna win today!

Henry

Continuing on US 75 to somewhere more obscure, Holton, KS:

Go Cubs Go! Go Cubs Go! Hey Chicago, what do you say? The Cubs are gonna win today!

wanderer2575

"Obscure" doesn't really help with this thread.  Holton has three routes, two of which are minor state routes.

Anyway, let's turn around and take US-75 south to Topeka, KS:

Henry

So we're back to square one...

Let's go east on I-70 from one state capital to another, Topeka to Indianapolis:

Go Cubs Go! Go Cubs Go! Hey Chicago, what do you say? The Cubs are gonna win today!

Henry

The state capitals tour continues with a trip up I-69 to Lansing, MI:

Go Cubs Go! Go Cubs Go! Hey Chicago, what do you say? The Cubs are gonna win today!

Henry

Let's change the starting point to Lansing, IL, and continue the state capital tour with a trip on I-80 west to Cheyenne, WY:

Go Cubs Go! Go Cubs Go! Hey Chicago, what do you say? The Cubs are gonna win today!

Henry

I don't see the state capital streak continuing after this, but from Cheyenne, I'm going on I-25 south to Santa Fe, NM:

Go Cubs Go! Go Cubs Go! Hey Chicago, what do you say? The Cubs are gonna win today!

Jim

Let's take US 84 much of the way across the country to Evergreen, Alabama.  Taken on I-65, July 28, 2024.

From Muskegon, it's back to Lansing on I-96:

Go Cubs Go! Go Cubs Go! Hey Chicago, what do you say? The Cubs are gonna win today!

Jim

Not seeing any evidence in a search that I've played Owenton, so let's go on US 127 to Owenton (KY).  Taken on I-71, May 31, 2009.

Turn around and take US-127 north to Clare, MI:

Henry

From Clare, let's take US 10 (including the Lake Michigan ferry) to West Fargo, ND:

Go Cubs Go! Go Cubs Go! Hey Chicago, what do you say? The Cubs are gonna win today!

Henry

Looks like we don't have too far to go for the next destination, as it's I-94 west to Bismarck:

Go Cubs Go! Go Cubs Go! Hey Chicago, what do you say? The Cubs are gonna win today!

Henry

From Bismarck, it's a long trek south on US 83 to Brownsville:

Go Cubs Go! Go Cubs Go! Hey Chicago, what do you say? The Cubs are gonna win today!

wanderer2575

From Brownsville, take I-69 (with its appendages and leaping over the gaps) all the way to its other end in Port Huron, MI:

Henry

From Port Huron, it's time to turn around on I-94 and go back west to Milwaukee:

Go Cubs Go! Go Cubs Go! Hey Chicago, what do you say? The Cubs are gonna win today!
