Always convenient to have a calendar reminder for when to expect one of my favorite movies to be on TV.

Valentine's Day this year is also YouTube's 20th birthday. I could talk about that with a co-worker. Should that be on the calendar?

Nope, December 13 does not show Olive Garden's birthday.

If I was your coworker, since that's my birthday. (Assuming you care about your coworkers' birthdays, of course. I wouldn't blame you if you didn't. I never knew any of my coworkers' birthdays unless we hung out outside of work.)

You know what I like about that? Presumably, used the actual performance location rather than just choosing the largest city in the metro area.

They used Camden, and not Philadelphia; Franklin, not Nashville; Noblesville, not Indianapolis. Nothing against those cities in particular, but I think most tour listings would add a little location embellishment to make it sound more cosmopolitan.

Well, sure.  Why else does one have a calendar if not to remind oneself of significant events?

Outside of my immediate family, I couldn't tell you the birthday of a single person I know—except for my sister-in-law, who shares my own birthday, and a friend whose birthday is on Christmas.

Quote from: Rothman on February 10, 2025, 05:47:20 PMWhy else does one have a calendar if not to remind oneself of significant events?

Exactly my point.  Groundhog Day is not a significant event.  But even less of one in a work context.

I have never, not once, wondered if I needed to wrap up payroll tasks a day early because the bank might need to start processing things a day early due to Groundhog Day.  I have never, not once, wondered if a contact at another office or another company might be off work because of Groundhog Day.  I have never, not once, wondered if it would be a faux pas to omit Happy Groundhog Day from signing an e-mail at work.  I have never, not once, wondered if data might not be available to download because the person department responsible for uploading it was closed on Groundhog Day.

Still kind of ticked that I've been to the larger Denver area twice in the last few years and still haven't been able to swing by.
