Curious on what image generator that is to get modern weather in the old school TWC local forecast.

https://www.taiganet.com/

I took the time to find old videos of TWC forecasts to configure the cities and maps to be an exact match to what was used in Las Vegas. You're in luck that one exists for Love Field, if you want to go the same route: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FeTnMMV7ZQY

The best weather in the country is found (as to be expected) here in South Texas -- Sunny, warm, breezy, pleasant....in a word perfect!

Early morning fog will give way to mostly clear skies all this week.  Wind breezing from the Gulf of (*whatever*), will bring in tropical moisture putting an end to the Red Flag conditions....dew points in the 70s all across South Texas will raise the Heat Index in the triple-digits, a few places could see as much as 111 degrees.  Temperatures are ahead of schedule for the start of April (about 10-15 degrees above average); these are typically Memorial Day type temperatures, but who's complaining?

                                  ACTUAL                            AVERAGE
BROWNSVILLE:       98 high; 75 low                 85 high; 66 low
CORPUS CHRISTI:   94 high; 74 low                 82 high; 65 low
LAREDO:               101 high; 73 low                 89 high; 63 low
MCALLEN:             102 high; 77 low                 87 high; 67 low

While I'm looking forward to warmer temperatures in Ontario, I wouldn't consider 100F (38C) perfect weather lol. It sounds terrifyingly hot! (and in early April no less?). To each their own. :D

It's a decent day here in Kitchener, 3C (37F) and sunny. I missed the freezing rain this past weekend when I was in Halifax, but sounds like we'll be getting a bit of freezing rain tomorrow . Friday looks great though, 12C (54F) and sunny! Spring is gradually on its way.

EDIT: There's a rainfall warning, 30-50mm (1.2-2") expected tomorrow through Thursday morning.

I'll put it like this:  I'm just glad winter is done....no more frigid temperatures to put up with.

On/off periods of heavy rain and sun.

Today begins the first of several days of severe weather that will last until Saturday morning.

Welcome to Breezewood, PA... the parking lot between I-70 and I-70.

Got about 0.25" of snow overnight.

Another fun note. We got more rain last weekend than we had gotten in the previous four months (rain equivalent of snow).

This coming weekend, should get somewhere around 5-6" of snow, but with periods in between of warmth and sunshine so it should melt some in the interim.

Same here. It's presently 36°F and dumping ice and sleet, though it's supposed to warm up a bit and change to rain later.

We had a short burst of heavy wet snow around lunchtime, maybe some ice mixed in because it felt a bit hard hitting my face. Now it looks like winter again, but it'll likely melt tomorrow since it could reach a whopping 18C (64F)!

Woke up earlier to heavy rain with a flash of lightning and some rumbles of thunder, enough for my power to go out for a second.

Yeah, you lost me at the dew point. 98° is nice enough...if the dew points are in the 30s.

Cold and damp.  There was actually a little bit of sleet and a few snowflakes when we went grocery shopping, 10am to noon.

I think "dry" heat is just as lethal (if not more dangerous) as moisture-laden heat.  Low dew points are a false sense of comfort where you may not feel the strike as much, but dehydration will eventually get you.

I'm not used to dry heat summers so I wonder how many gallons of water you need to consume per hour to stay alive out there in places like Las Vegas/Tucson/Phoenix/Reno/etc.

I'll take the greater evaporation of sweat in dry heat any day, even if it means drinking more water to stay hydrated.  That is, after all, how the body cools itself.

Yep, and if you have one of those insulated cups and fill it up with some ice water, you don't have to worry about staying hydrated—you'll naturally want to drink the water because of the internal cooling effect it provides. Any time I have to leave the house to run errands during the summer, I bring a water cup with me, and it makes the desert heat very tolerable.

The worst thing about the desert heat is that everyone is noticeably crankier when it gets above 110.

It was 86° on Saturday for a high. It was 73° yesterday for a high. And we got about a quarter inch of snow overnight. :)

Currently 14C (58F) and sunny, which feels downright tropical after winter! This afternoon could reach 17C (63F) and potentially a thunderstorm.

EDIT: As of 16:30, it's 19C (66F), wow!

Although slightly cooler than we were at the start of this month, South Texas is still several degrees above normal for mid-April by around +5 to +8.  Winds from the southeast are fairly light for now but will be quite breezy by the end of this week with gusts approaching 30 MPH.  Some moisture from the gulf continue flowing into the Texas coast keeping our dew points around 70 degrees, but as far as Heat Index, most of our area will remain short of triple-digits and a few places could exceed 100 degrees.

MCALLEN:              96 high; 74 low                 90 high; 69 low

P.S.:  Even the so-called "South" don't see 100+ this early in April.
