I-57 is marked, but the part through Jacksonville and at the White River are red and not green, and marked as Future I-57. Also, US 78 is still marked with a black line. It looks like they would have fixed that this year.

What's the story with the White River crossing? There's a Jersey barrier in the median but otherwise I don't recall anything blaringly substandard about it.

I think it was dumb to leave gaps in the Interstate 57 designation along the US 67 freeway. It was a good move to show former-AR 440 as Interstate 440.

There is an exception on the White River bridge for farm equipment.  Ultimately, it'll wind up like I-555 over the St. Francis River as an interstate with an exception for farm equipment over the bridge.  I can't think there's even a dozen instances per year, and then only during planting or harvesting season, that it'll get used as such, but there aren't alternatives to cross the river in that area between Newport on AR-14/367 and Augusta on US-64 (over 50 river miles), so it'll ultimately get signed as I-57 regardless.

I noticed AR 114 got trimmed between Douglas and US 65 upon driving home yesterday, that was probably in a previous minute order anyways.

The red triple dotted line is under construction highways, the black triple dotted line is proposed.

Future I-42/Future US 412/AR 612/future XNA freeway:

Future I-49:

Future I-57:

Future I-69/Bypass US 278:

The parts of AR 226 and AR 18 that US 78 was extended over are still shown in black, as they were in the 2024 edition.

The current northern end of I-57 at Walnut Ridge:

Note that US 63B is marked in black, but US 412B is marked in red. Another error that should be corrected in future editions of the map.

Highway map = Yes

Map to show every named bridge, museum, visitors center, college, railroad = most definitely.

That clip of Van Buren sets new standards of visual congestion.  :-/

Road Hog

The 1970s Arkansas maps that ripped off the Gousha fonts were the best maps IMHO. I've said it before, I like those fonts much better than the current Industrial Drafting Board Light font.

Some interesting bits of trivia can be found when you look at those old highway maps.  For example, until around 1952, old U.S. 67 went due north when it crossed the Lonoke/White County line.  The highway went due north until it junctioned with U.S. 64 west of Beebe.  The road on the White County side, south of U.S. 64, is now known as Davidson Road. The highway, now known as state highway 367, was opened around 1953 or so.
