Ohio has been really bad lately.

US 175 posted for OH 175 at US 6  * new installs
US 237 posted near Cleveland Hopkins Airport
US 2 (contractor error) for OH 2 at OH 91 southbound

Once I am out of Facebook "prison" I will post - Google Maps showing correct shields.

New York never seems to run out of these, do they? US 219 stands in for NY 17, for some reason. Maybe it took a break.

"Hey, which shield gets the state route treatment?"

"Doesn't matter, just NOT the 86!"

"Okay, got it. Uh, which was the seventeen?"

"...it'll take care of both and save $200."

I-86 and US 219 are concurrent.

I think the infinite number of US/State mixups in NY is due to NYSDOT's practice of officially calling any non-Interstate route as a generic "Route" and an overemphasis on the idea that US Highway routes are just State routes in practice.

Here's an unusual one: US 45/52 in Kankakee, IL signed on an Illinois state route shield but without the Illinois at the top. If it wasn't right above the IL 115 shield, it would look like they just put the two numbers on a regulatory sign.

While 110 in Los Angeles is both an Interstate and a California State Highway, the jersey design and promo materials show an error US-110 shield in the jersey design & promo materials

@1995hoo may have to get this photo because I could not, but I saw an error US 193 shield on the I-495 Outer Loop approaching the American Legion Bridge tonight.

I don't plan to be heading in that direction anytime soon, but it wouldn't surprise me. Recall there was an erroneous US-123 shield on I-66 a year or so ago.

Here's two of them I took while on the drive home from East Tennessee earlier today...

This was taken along US 82 between Starkville and Columbus, MS. This should be MS 25 and not US 25.

This was taken in Greenwood, MS, should be US 49E.

Caught this one in Bowie, Maryland today on US 301.

Couldn't find this on a previous post, but this sign replaced a correct shield... https://maps.app.goo.gl/tT7vFQmL9xSBJ7dD6

I'm guessing the sign got damaged or knocked over and this is what replacement whole thing. Not entirely sure tbh

Also,
Quote from: formulanone on September 23, 2024, 09:04:19 PMFlorida 90 instead of US 90 in Jacksonville...this would work 350 miles away in Miami:

FDOT D2 has been made aware of both this error and on US-441, and signage fixes should occur soon.
I can drive 55 ONLY when it makes sense.

Either US 71 goes a lot further east now, or someone put the wrong shield on WIS 71 in Kendall, WI.

I discovered this when re-clinching US-395 by driving the new Olancha/Cartago Bypass. This was at the intersection of the new Crystal Geyser Rd and what has now been demoted to US-395 Business Route:

What poor demented soul felt obliged to put "US" on this sign?

Also, this should be taken down anyway, since the detour is no longer needed. The new end of route 190 at US-395 is open to traffic.

Quote from: wanderer2575 on November 03, 2024, 03:24:27 PMHow about a US/Interstate shield mixup error?  I-280 (Ohio) has been undergoing a rehab project between OH-2 and OH-51 in Northwood.  The median wall was replaced and all the new mile markers sport US-280 shields.

Credit where it's due -- I took a late-night drive Saturday along I-280 and all these mile markers have been replaced with correct shields.

Always wondered how "fat hill" got its name in a relatively flat area of the state. On the other hand, it's not a ghost town like the one in California.
