So it turns out SR 889 is now posted in Chunky, Mississippi as of 10 months ago. MDOT has been posting a few more of these shorter 7xx-8xx-9xx routes lately.

This bumps me to 897.

Sounds like you need a trip to Amish country in Pennsylvania.

TBKS1

Tensas Parish, Louisiana also has you covered  ;-)

But you weren't on it when it was signed?

It was internally SR 889 beforehand, as shown on MDOT maps.

Thus, I knew Chunky Duffee Road before it was cool.

I just returned from a trip to Maryland's Eastern Shore and picked up some numbers in the upper 300's.  Maryland uses a "clustering" method of numbering so that they were all in the same vicinity.

My lowest-numbered route that I haven't been on has increased from 361 to 369.  I know, not a huge jump.

What's next?  I'm planning a September vacation from Maryland to Maine, and can grab NY 369 near Binghamton and NY 375 near Woodstock on the way there (or back).  After those, 379 is next; unfortunately that would require another trip.  Maybe Ohio - that might be the closest 379.

Franklin, VA, is probably closer.

For those who haven't been following along, here is the progression of |Rothman|'s gatekeeping:

1.  He starts the ranker, acknowledging that different people have different standards on what to count—and specifically mentioning unsigned routes as one difference.  He ranks |oscar| appropriately, even with his having used two unsigned routes to get there.

Quote from: oscar on January 23, 2019, 12:29:56 PM296 and 345 would've broken my sequence, except I traveled the unsigned Interstates with those numbers.
Quote from: Rothman on June 09, 2019, 03:15:35 PMGave a summary of this thread a shot ... Tried to stick to how people counted their number ... although it may have included unsigned routes or whatever else that others might not count ...

oscar379

2.  He adds some humorous snark about unsigned routes, stating that he will personally avoid counting them for his own score, and calling those who do otherwise wimps.  He ranks |Mapmikey| appropriately, even with his having used an unsigned route to get there.

Quote from: Mapmikey on May 20, 2020, 01:24:39 PMI too will be relying on a couple unsigned VA 3xx routes once I go drive OH 266 which will make my new lowest number not driven to 428.
Quote from: Rothman on May 20, 2020, 02:05:37 PMI'm only going by signed routes ... feel free to be wimps if you want.
Quote from: Mapmikey on August 07, 2021, 10:39:39 AMTook an 18-hr U-turn trip specifically to drive OH 266.

This means that the lowest number I have not been on is now 428...
Quote from: Rothman on August 07, 2021, 10:56:15 AM
Mapmikey428

3.  He attempts to disqualify a recent jump by |formulanone| because one route was not signed when he was on it.  He ranks |formulanone| but adds an asterisk, presumably because he intends to let us know he doesn't think the new score is valid.  No asterisk for |oscar| or |Mapmikey|, though, so I guess it must be personal.

We all know I'm going to get a photo of a signed 889 somehow, so the asterisk just means Focus Lock.
