The Ghostbuster

The next PIMs for the Interstate 794 Lake Interchange Study are coming up: https://www.794lakeinterchange.wisconsindot.gov/. Like I've stated before, I hope the DOT chooses the Freeway Improvement with Right-Hand Ramps alternative.

I'm not sure this was mentioned here, but it looks as though WIDOT has released a map with their final options for design.

Looks like they have enough room to add a lane or two each way even after they make it four lanes each way. They should've just went ahead and did five lanes each way future proof it.

No they aren't doing that. It was a battle enough to get four.

The cemetery is your chokepoint. They are jamming 8 11' lanes with basically no shoulder through there, to avoid having to double-deck the highway, or to disturb or move any gravesites. A fifth through lane in each direction was a non-starter.

That makes sense then. Not too familiar with this corridor but I assumed there was a choke point somewhere.

Yea, look a bit upthread for the discussion of 'legally sealed graves' in that cemetery.
