The guy who filed this has a long history of trying to overturn the will of voters

Quote"He was issued a 60-day suspension by the state bar for lying while representing Republican Kari Lake in a lawsuit that sought to overturn the results of the 2022 gubernatorial election. The Arizona Supreme Court fined Blehm and another attorney $2,000 for making "unequivocally false" claims in that case.

He represented a conservative election-denial group in a legal battle with Maricopa County over public records earlier this year. He may not have been licensed to practice law during a trial in that case, because of a "fees-related issue," the county's lawyers said in open court at the time."

EDIT: More reason to hope, last year, the AZ Court of Appeals dismissed a similar case that attempted to stop a tax measure passed by Cochise County voters with only 51% of the vote

The Maricopa County GOP has pulled its lawsuit.

I'm guessing Bryan Blehm doesn't want to get disbarred again

As of Monday 1/13 I-10 EB has a full 6 lanes + 1 HOV between the I-17 split and US 60. Gotta imagine smoother afternoon rush hour traffic on this stretch.

Roadwarriors79

An update on the I-10 Broadway Curve project. It looks like most of the new signage and permanent striping is there going EB. WB is similar, except there will need to be restriping for 2 HOV lanes.

Roadwarriors79

I was driving along I-10 WB by the airport today. ADOT was in the process of installing some new signs. Supplemental signs approaching the Split say "60 West, Wickenburg" and "60 West, Kingman, Las Vegas". The only other place I've ever seen Kingman and Las Vegas referenced on the valley freeway system is on Loop 101 in Peoria at the US 60/Grand Ave exit.

Shame, I used to use that entrance quite a bit to go home from work.  The ramp north of Frank Lloyd Wright used to regularly back up.

Only closing for 60 days so they can reconfigure it for the Loop 101 widening project. It will be reopened.

These are good ideas, but what they really need is to make US-60/Grand a full freeway, at least to AZ-101.
Ironically enough, they are actually building a new E/W freeway (Northern Parkway), but that area hasn't been nearly as developed yet.

That's never going to happen with how tight the corridor is with commercial property on one side and the BNSF tracks on the other. They can make adjustments like raising Bell over Grand and the tracks, but the idea of it being a full freeway sailed away decades ago.

If not for the tracks, there appears to be enough room for a freeway, aside from a rail yard/parking lot by the riverbed just west of sun city. Exits would get tight and you'd need a frontage road on the south side for all the businesses. It almost looks like there was planned to be a freeway with how much empty space there is on the north side, compared to closer downtown, where the tracks run right up against the road and warehouses.

Projecting anything out to FY2045 is a "I'll believe it when I see it" kind of thing.

Nice to know that if my daughter opts to stay in the valley following graduation, she will benefit from a complete SR-30 when she is in her 40's.  Then again, 20 years goes awful fast...

Sonic99

Really wish they could somehow fast-track the SR30 in its entirety. I feel like having a direct connection to downtown running all the way out to the 303 would be a massive reliever for I-10 literally the minute it opens. The traffic volumes justify it today, let alone what it will look like in 20 years.

Used to be free with a free phoenix library card but they axed that recently

Sonic99

I know the improvements are well into the future, but it seems frustrating that they're doing all the work on the 101 right now in that exact area with no upgrades to the interchange, and NOW they're launching a study which will cause them to come back in a few years to tear it all back up again and redo it. Doesn't seem to do much to silence the "all ADOT does is Job Security for the contractors" stigma some people have.
