That route shield looks like it was pasted into the photo with MS Paint.

I always see this sign arrangement coming back from the Portland area via ME 111, and wonder why they didn't just stack the legends or replace the brace on the route shields... it seemed to have started around 2023 as the sign looked correct prior to that. This is at the US 202, ME 4A, and ME 111 junction in Alfred, at ME 111's western terminus and continuing straight through the intersection.

The guide sign, which really isn't needed here, is hindering a route shield.
